A year ago today, I put a red leather collar in My husband's hands. As I did so, I told him that I wanted to collar the boy who was kneeling in front of Me. The one who had earned his place with Me, and in this family. The same who, when asked about a potential collar had replied, "I already feel collared to you, m'Lady" and had made Me smile. When I put that collar into My husband's hands, I explained My intent. I was going to leave the room. If, when I came back, my sub was holding that collar, it would be a sign to Me that My husband accepted the D/s dynamic. If not, I would understand that a greater time investment would be necessary.
With this, I left the room. To this day, I do not know what happened between the two of them behind that closed door. I have My suspicions, but nothing concrete.
When I returned, I saw My husband on the left, and My sub sitting on the floor to the right. In the boy's hands, was a shiny, new collar. My clip was commanded to kneel. I said a few frivolous things. None of which mattered. My boy leaned forward and kissed the leather before it was fastened on his neck.
In this year, I have never once regretted the decision that clip should be Mine. Yes, some things have been harder than others. Still, putting My collar on clip's neck has probably been one of the best things I have ever done.
