Which means what?

That you are ignorant to the fact that everything you eat, or have ever eaten, was at one point alive?

peta is all hot air and b.s.
i'm a veggie, pro-animal rights, all that, but i don't care for peta at all. if they can't parade around naked for the cause, they won't support it =p
they won't say anything about the japanese and their "scientific whaling" (yeah right) but they'll scream and whine about using breast milk to make ice cream =p i mean COME ON.

when i lived in the city where their headquarters is, they ran around letting people's dogs out of fences because they believe we shouldn't have pets. dogs were getting run over in the street and alot of people NEVER got their pet back.
it was completely asinine.

they make me so sick, i don't have words for it =p

I'm not ignorant of that fact,   when I slice into the sweet flesh of that carrot or leek that once felt the sun on its back,  I could care less.    The suffering of vegetables is not something I care to think about at all.  It would put me off my dinner.

You could at least eat something that had a shot at screaming and running away before you killed it.  Vegies, they have no chance, man, NO CHANCE AT ALL!  How cruel!

I can't ever buy a mink coat thanks to PETA and the animal rights' extemists.  Gawd, anymore I'd be worried about being assualted just going into a fur salon.

So, where the hell are they as Japan hunts the species of whales to the brink of extinction?   I really like whales.  They're fascinating to me.  Biggest mammals on earth, communicating through water with those lovely songs.  They're worth saving.

I'll acknowledge animal rights when they petition for them.

where a regular coat like the rest of us.

And I'm sure PETA doesn't have unlimitied resources to do EVERYTHING they want. But they do great work when they can. Many people enjoy all kinds of different species as you say you like whales, so even a person like you has a lot to be thankful to them for.

I think it is up to Ms. Candystriper reagarding the question of whether or not she 'needs' a mink coat...not you. it's none of your business.

PETA is completely indefensible.  If you are interested in stopping animal abuse there are plenty of organizations that hire calm, rational people who know how to work with companies, politicians, communities, etc. to make real changes.

PETA euthanizes 1,000's of animals that they swear will get new homes.
They advocate the firebombing of medical labs.
They break into mink/rabbit/chinchilla farms and release the animals into the wild.  Where they strave to death unless they are lucky enough to meet a swift end as a meal for a predator.
They are domestic terrorists, plain and simple.

BTW: Fur is not just for rich bitches - I know - I bought 1 for my wife back when I had a real job.  It's waist-length and it was only $500 - less than many leather coats.  By contrast, a full-length silver chinchilla was $20,000.  Just one touch and you would know it was worth every penny... <sigh>

There's absolutely no reason to hunt whales.  We can't gow them on ranches.  Once they're gone that's it.  And it's not even a fair fight.  Whaling ships are basically hi-tech factories.  They have every gadget imaginable to find them: radar, sonar, GPS, the works!  The harpoons they use are shot from canons.  The tips pierce the skin - several inches worth - and then explode.  No exceptions are made for females, pregnant or otherwise.  It's absolute horrendous.

If I buy my wife a mink coat and some asshole throws paint on it, I must have the right to throw that same asshole into the river wearing concrete.

...well, the right to respond certainly........maybe the right to toss paint over their vegetarian shoes, or to deface their collection of Smiths albums.......but the right to kill them? A tad disproportionate.

Not really.  An unprovoked attack on my wife is a good reason for me to react.  If they can assault my wife and vandalize my property because of their beliefs then I have the right to make them swim with the fishes.
I am making the same sort of a jump that they are.  Since it seems that only two of you picked up on that I'll tell you something.  It was made to be the next logical step following their own scale of demented logic.  I went to the extreme of lunacy nd said "What should I do next?"
In truth, I would not hesitate to drop them on the spot and kick the shit out of them.  It is what needs to happen to them.  There have to be consequences for these assholes other than a slap on the wrist or a pat on the back from their buddies.
MM, the cops are only likely to give them a slap on the wrist when they need a kick in the ass.

If you kill one of those asswipes, trust me, you will go to prison.  Polishing your boots on their ass...you would probably walk on that unless you crippled one of them.

I try to plant enough so the small critters have enough to fill their little tummies and grow big and fat so I can cook them.  The advantage is that they look after themselves and I am assured organic, hormone free meat protein.

The Mrs carries mace and has been instructed in how to use it.  If some PETA dipshit throws paint on her, said dipshit will get a facefull.  We'll take our chances with the courts.

I find it pretty lame to bemoan the state of mink and fur, when good whips are made from leather, floggers etc.  Do people look ethically at their tools?  Not so much.
Well said

big difference here. Cattle are not killed for their skins. The hell they aren't.

Minks are. Cattle are used for human consumption.

Anyone want to hear about the chickens that grow into and become part of their cages to produce eggs?

oh actually, alot of leather comes from cows from india where they ARE killed primarily for their skin. people often think that leather is a bi-product of meat production, and certainly to some degree it is. but most of it, oddly enough, comes from india. alot of it, if it's from china, also comes from cats and dogs. fur, too.

but anyway, when i start building up my "toy chest," i'm doing the majority of my ordering from veganerotica =p and there's a guy here in town who makes veggie friendly floggers. =p
