I *do not* have a rash.

This would be the *counts* 4th time I've said that.

Hive are NOT a rash.

Unfortunately Lamictal does *not* stop cycling, for me. It simply compresses it (so that I don't cycle anywhere near as wildly or far in either direction. I usually don't *get* as far as -8 on the Lamictal), but that is *ok* with both me, and my doctor. The point of taking the medication isn't to make the problem go away, for me, it's to be able to work through it and be functional.

For anyone interested, at my appointment my doctor confirmed that the steroids are the likely culprit, and now that I'm down to a reduced dosage from what I was before (by 20mg) I've returned to a semblance of my normal, so my tendency would be to agree with her. Once I'm off the steroids entirely (which is only 7 days from now) I'll probably begin to return to total normal.

Thanks for your concern, everyone!

Sorry, only when you hear Lamictal and hives, it is automatic to think rash and Stevens-Johnson. They drill it into us at the first writing of the scrip and every adjustment.

Glad to know it's the steroids and you're tapering off them. Hope you're back to normal soonest.

I've taken steroids before, and they did bad things for my moods.

Re: drug interactions - there are several drug interaction "calculators" on the web.  You enter all your meds and it warns you of possible interactions, including with alcohol.
