I always assumed separating the wheat from the chaff was just another part of the search, probably the largest part.  Of course another big part is trying convince others your not chaff, so you need to speak well of yourself and be able to listen to what others have to say.  Getting burned out on the whole process is perfectly normal.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: need to vent (11/5/2008 4:41:54 PM)

Not to mention, you're online.  90% of the people are going to be dumbasses and dorks.  So I'd say your experience is about normal.

hi patina

i read your profile, and agree, your smile lights up the room, girl!

my suggestion to you would be from alot of experience and heartache.

take some time and learn you.  discover what your needs, wants and desires are, and keep them to yourself.  take them off your profile, darlin.  men who are looking to play you will use them again you, telling you what you want to hear, then hoping they can draw you in deep enough to spring it on you their true intentions and banking on your slave feelings to remain with them.

we both know that isnt how it works.  but, in all honesty, i think your profile is drawing in the ones you dont want, and running off the ones who may actually be what you seek.  no one needs to know if you are into poly, bi, pain, or chocolates except the ones you decide to talk too personally.  the more information you give them, the more they can use against you.

soften your profile.. and use your smile to your advatnage, as well as what you know you want in a man, and use your brain to weed out the ones you dont.

best of luck to you

tazzy

Greetings all:

I know as a slave i am supposed to be pleasing at all times, to not talk bad of masters but i am just so ticked off.  The last 3 guys i talked too have turned out to be jerks in my book, what is it with this site 89% jerks?  The one guy denies he is a sadist, i have nothing against sadist or pain slut it just is not for me and i have that in my profile i too make sure they know that.  He kept saying he wasn't until I had started really feeling like it might go somewhere then he admits he is.  The next two guys start out like they are alone then admit they are actually wanting a pet for their slaves.  Why don't they say that up front?  I do not want to be a pet for a female I am NOT BI i too have that in my profile.  I also ask that upfront, are you married have another female in the place? i do not share my men.

What is it that these guys they want to lie then complain --i can't find a slave all the women on here are fakes-- yeah right look at yourself first jerk.

Sorry i just needed to vent.  i wish the jerks would read the post but they don't only the decent ones do and they mainly have slaves.

Forgive me Masters and Free for not being pleasing.

Hi Patina,

I think Stella gave some blunt but very good advice. Sometimes we have to look within ourselves, when relationship after relationship fails or fall short of our expectations.

And I believe we all have expectations in romance ... whether it be BDSM or Vanilla.

The thing to ask yourself is ... are my expectations realistic and to what degree are these expectations, are they impossible for someone to meet? If there is a certain type of Master you would like to have in your life ... then, as others stated, you should not lower your standards ... but, that will mean slowing down and taking the time to get to know people.

Because if it's burns hot right away, it's usually too good to be true. Trust me,  waiting for the slow burn will make everything worthwhile.

Stella suggested putting up new photos of yourself and I would agree. Accentuate the positive ... you seem like a nice pleasing person and the imagery that would fit with your personality would be to show some photos of yourself looking relaxed, pleasant and smiling.

Greetings all:

I need to apologize for my outburst the other day.  I would of done this sooner but my internet has been down.  Yes a lot of my problems are my own fault.  i am going to take a hiatus and try to get my mind straightened out.  Just do some creative things for a while.  Maybe i will be able to get myself to stop jumping through those fake hoops and take off my rose colored glasses.  I appreciate your words of wisdom from all of you.  Those who gave me encouragement i really appreciate.

I have already told several new guy not interested.  I could ramble on but i won't bore you will just say i am going to go slow and try to just deal with me right now.

As others have alluded, I think you'll find this rough percentage not indicative specifically of CM at all...but rather humanity as a whole.

And, since this community is a subset of it...

Not to hijack the thread but ... man ... you are hot in a creepy sort of way.

To Patina,

Have a relaxing and rejuvenating hiatus.

Nothing to do with this site - it is the internet in general. I dropped my paid subscription to alt because it is now mostly trolls and flakes, interspersed with the entire population of Ghana. It is interesting, academically, that so many people think they can do on the internet what they can't do in real life - get a man/woman without courtship,. leading a double or triple life, etc. etc. It increased in percentage as the price of PCs came down, and now that it is down to $300 it is getting horrendous.

I wholeheartedly agree. Welcome to the age of technology, digital single's bars. I guess CM would be the artsy/S & M bar of the internet.

Eliana -> RE: need to vent (11/8/2008 4:40:29 PM)

patina, trust me there's a lot more chaff than wheat - it takes a while to sort through it!  But I would encourage you to persevere.  You will find it is worth it when you finally meet the right One.  And you know, maybe it isn't SUPPOSED to be easy because a great Master really is a huge prize.  Good luck!

This is one of those rare instances where the brain (mine, in this case) isn't quite initially capable of deciding how to facially respond to a comment, but where the mouth itself defaults, subconsciously, to a bemused grin.

Thank you.... (...I think).

You're welcome and yes ... it was a compliment.
