That is what training is for. I personally believe that the majority of doms that do this are either immature (and we all know that men mature approximately 150 years later than do women [;)]) or opportunists. There are a lot of men out there that "do" D/s because it is a shortcut, they don't have to court, many either can't or won't.
I know that for myself, I negotiate in extreme detail, ensuring that I understand what makes the sub tick, and what she is after (many subs have extremely detailed expectation while they say they don't, at least in my experience, and not out of malice), and that appropriate two way traffic is established. I will then, more often than not, train, and only then does the fun begin (so the speak, the hunt and the foreplay are actually oodles).
