So I get this email today when I come onto Collarme.com. from someone whose name is in light purple.

It simply said: "femdom breaks a man"

This was my reply: "*yawn* Guess you don't know many real female dominant and male submissive couples, huh?"

Have you received similar messages?

If so, how did you reply if you did?

If not, how would you reply?

What do you think motivates such strange little messages?

I think its a combination of insecurity and loneliness and makes folks reach out in this fashion.

I agree, insecurity and loneliness has a lot to do with it.  Sometimes I reply and sometimes I just ignore. It's usually not worth my time to come up with something witty. I do like the response you gave, though.

I have received some wierd ones as well. I think that we all do.

I have had "Your a fake!", "There is no such thing as a female Dominant", "I hate female dominants, your ruining things for us submissive females", "Hey babe, how about meeting me at my hotel on this night? I've always wanted to be flogged by a woman".

That kind of bullshit. How do I respond? I usually do not. Why should I feed their insecurity? If they are lonely they could always get a job, donate some time to charity or get a life.

Alot of these losers will use negativity to try to get your attention. It's the only way they can be noticed. I get all kinds of strange emails everyday. I used to reply. Now I just delete them. Unless, of course, I have PMS.

MsPhantasia -> RE: Motivations in Strange Emails and Your Responsive (11/5/2008 8:49:30 AM)

Ooops, I was replying to Tammy Jo. I don't know what I'm doing since I don't post here often.

PeonForHer -> RE: Motivations in Strange Emails and Your Responsive (11/5/2008 11:41:06 AM)

I had one recently, in dark blue writing, that said only, "hello".

I wrote back asking why he'd contacted me and to point out that he had no active profile.

He replied to say, "male 50".  That was all.

I don't know, TMJ.  Personally, my life already supplies a rich variety of headaches.  I don't have any space in my diary for more.

Oh my God P...I can't believe you missed it...the simplicity of it all, the -import- of his message!

Things in your life will never be the same now...think how they could have/might have been had you just been on your toes that day...

male 50...wow, just wow...so deep and spiritual...

How will you ever recover?  [;)]

Lockit -> RE: Motivations in Strange Emails and Your Responsive (11/5/2008 12:03:30 PM)

After posting rules of communication on my profile, I have cut more than half the email in half.  I still get them, just not as many.  They do have an agenda it seems, but I can't figure it out most the time, as it has nothing to do with me or anything I am or say, so I typically ask them if this sort of thing works for them and most of the time block.

I think my favorite was the guy that wrote and asked if I wasn't too old to be a domme.  Yes, I liked that one best. lol

I know, Otters.  I'm telling you, that mail made all of Oscar Wilde's works together look as mundane as the heating instructions on a tin of baked beans.

Absolutely superb!  That's cracking me up!!

I wonder if they do special retirement homes for dommes beyond a certain age?  Cosy dungeon areas with little tables to put one's knitting?  Extra pension allowances for whip and handcuff costs, maybe?

ShiftedJewel -> RE: Motivations in Strange Emails and Your Responsive (11/5/2008 1:00:34 PM)

I'm thinking seriously of opening one!!!

I got one that asked me to meet him in chat. I asked what it was I was supposed to be chatting to him about? His reply? "What you are doing is evil and you'll go to hell because of it."

Yeah.. alrighty then...

PeonForHer -> RE: Motivations in Strange Emails and Your Responsive (11/5/2008 1:23:35 PM)

Ooh, SJ.  You should have told him that you were both already in hell.  You because you were a demon and he because in life he'd sinned.  And now, you're going to come and get him. [:D]

Lockit -> RE: Motivations in Strange Emails and Your Responsive (11/5/2008 1:28:24 PM)

I am planning my domme retirement home... oh yes... but with some of these emailer's... the real question would be... where am I sticking that knitting needle.

StrongSpirit -> RE: Motivations in Strange Emails and Your Responsive (11/5/2008 4:10:03 PM)

Sometimes people mistakenly hit SEND before they finish writing their email.  Other times, people send emails to the wrong person.  Other times, people get confused about what is appropriate on the internet.

The weird thing is one time I mistakenly sent an email to the wrong person and she responded.  She was very angry, thinking I was mass emailing without reading people's profiles.   I tried to explain, but she was .... not very intelligent.   I had to block her.

Lockit -> RE: Motivations in Strange Emails and Your Responsive (11/5/2008 5:35:59 PM)

LOL... Sounds like me some days... maybe it was.  If an email intended for someone else came to someone and said things you might say to someone you know that could pose a problem or two I think.  Then if it is a person like me with hard and fast rules and anything was said of a sexual nature or too familiar... I can see that happening.  I might go a couple rounds of emails once in a while because I am trying to say why I am not liking what is happening or how rude something might be and then will block.  I am typically very direct and could sound angry.  I don't think many have made me angry though.

When you get 20-100 emails in a day and many of them are a pain, you can get short and direct or ignore very easily.  The no nick or anything... just start talking and one or two lines and a complete ignoring of my profile and rules and jumping right in there will sometimes get a response from me and not a sticky sweet one.  It all depends on the day, the amount of email or trolling for a mistress play toy...  I know it can be hard to email someone, but common social grace and making sure one is not clicking on the wrong person does help.

PeonForHer -> RE: Motivations in Strange Emails and Your Responsive (11/5/2008 5:55:42 PM)

Point of info for a comparative newbie, Lockit.  I keep getting mails from various very young Americans asking to me to "add them" -giving an email address.   I check my "who's viewing me" and find that, without exception, they've not looked at my profile.  I've never really worked out what these women (if indeed they are women) are up to.  Any ideas?

Lockit -> RE: Motivations in Strange Emails and Your Responsive (11/5/2008 6:03:17 PM)

Yup... If they are from this site and directing me within this site, I typically go to the persons profile and they most often have like fifty friends, but I do see the profile.  I then email and tell them that I do not accept friends unless they are friends.  If they have like fifty women there, all unknown to me and I have never seen them... I don't care what they think.  If they are just someone trying to make a friend.. I open the door for that.

If they are directing me to another site... I tend to report it as spam.

Madame4a -> RE: Motivations in Strange Emails and Your Responsive (11/5/2008 7:12:17 PM)

my latest fun email was

"hello bitch"

from a 22 year old dominant from India... let's just say there are at least three obvious things that don't meet my criteria...

I blocked and deleted... for me, that was the only response...

I have to wonder if that actually works in some cases... why else use it?

Lockit -> RE: Motivations in Strange Emails and Your Responsive (11/5/2008 7:14:33 PM)

I have actually asked some if their approach worked for them and a few said it did. lol  You can decide if they told the truth or not.  It didn't work with me. lol

I think it's the idea that if I approach 100 or 1000 people in a certain way and one responses or I get a relationship or sex or a scene, then it is worth it.

Easy to do mass outreach than to modify your approach or mind sometimes.
