Today I got a wonderful package delivered to my door. I set it on my table (which btw, was delivered at 6:30am!! this morning, yippeeeeee for actual furniture) and cut the tape off. The moment I opened it the most delicious waft of Michigan autumn air rose up and wrapped around me, the scent of autumn leaves!
I don't know who sent it to me, but who ever it was really made my day.
They will go well with the ones that softpjos sent me last week. She took the time to collect them and iron them between sheets of waxed paper then mailed them to me.
Thank you my friends for sending me a bit of Michigan just when I was feeling homesick. It was so kind of pj and the mystery person (who, who, whooooooo are you? who who?) to have done this.
The sight and smell of all those leaves brought back memories of childhood when I would wiggle my way into a gigantic pile of leaves. The crackly crunchy scented leaves surrounding me, the dust tickling my nose and then the sheer delight of popping out of the leaf pile while tossing them into the air.
They made me think of apple cider from the Franklin Mill and those perfect donuts.
