Fox and I are both curious about this, he moreso that me.
Does anyone know of a lotion to use after waxing that supposedly impedes the regrowth of hair? Ive searched but most of what I find online are pages damning the OTC hair inhibitors that used to be on TV and such. Thats not exactly what I am looking for. If I remember correctly from my last salon visit, they have something, but I cant find what it is. We plan on using a home kit, thats not a problem (though hints on which work best would be nice). Its the aftercare lotion Im most curious about.

i use a product called Finipil that my asthetician gives me. i don't think it really impedes growth - but it's an antibacterial/antimicrobial and does help to keep the hairs from becoming ingrown as they grow back.
i find the waxing itself impedes regrowth - i've been waxing for about a year now and i only wax about every 6-8 weeks and then i still only have about 1/4 the amount of hair i used to have. It also grows back slower and much softer than when it's shaved.

You may want to try to find a topical cream with Parathyroid hormone in it.

There were lotions on the market..I want to say suave had one. Trash though...you want to go with something with hard evidence.

I know there are things like Bikini Zone that have lidicane (sp?) which is a topical numbing agent. It's supposed to help.

Sally's beauty supply sells the whole kit for about 20 bucks and it comes with a hair growth inhibitor and numbing lotion. If your doing brazilian...have someone help you. I had a really bad experience with it.

I do wax occasionally... Im not sure about the hair growth inhibitors but from personal experience after I wax once or twice it usually takes a little over a month for the hair to actually grow back and when it does its very thin and sparse. Don't bother with the pre-waxed strips... I find they don't really adhere enough to the hair to be effective (especially in those "hard to reach" areas with thicker hair) the same goes for the kind that doesn't require the strips... thats ok for small delicate areas but if you're going for anything else I would suggest using the regular type that you either microwave (make sure to stir really well... I found out the hard way that it heats unevenly in the microwave and some spots are ok and some spots are boiling hot... OUCH!) or use one of the heaters for. As another poster mentioned sally beauty supply has several different kits... I have used one I bought at a drug store (actually called Nads I had seen an infomercial for it and just had to buy it lol) and it worked pretty well... that one didn't need to be heated up so I avoided the accidental burns...

We have a kit from Walgreens for a starter it was $10 and it should do the job. I dont think the lidocane will be necessary, Fox is a masochist after all. We are more interested in the hair inhibitors than the pain. Me, I just shave most of the time.
