BlackSakura -> A panic vest? (11/5/2008 6:44:14 PM)
Has anyone seen the movie “The Chair”? If you can stomach the low production values, the movie uses a device called a “panic vest”. Does anyone know if this is an actual device? I personally would not be stupid enough to use it one someone but just curious.

Is it like a self-tightening corset or something? Can't find much online other than the official trailer, which doesn't show a lot of detail. Sounds interesting, though [:)]

Seems like a bicycle gear contraption closes off the vest in sequence to something, probably heavy breathing (panic?). Not my schtick - but a very pretty woman - something we all enjoy!

If I'm not mistaken, special education teachers use similar techniques with some autistic students. You might look for information in that area.

Never seen... they missed a cinematographic opportunity there, though, would have been much more torturific had it been powered by a gasoline engine, say a converted chainsaw [8D].

I tried to find it in the dutch google. It came up with posey vest. Used to keep people in their wheelchair or on a bed. Posey is a company making restraints and such.
