ThePumpkinKing -> A desire for understanding (11/6/2008 7:44:42 PM)

I have been reading
Screw the roses send me the thorns
the romance and sexual sorcery of sadomasochism
                                     AND
Come hither a common sence guide to kinky sex

So here is my question what other books are out that cover the topics of
Sadomasochism
Dominance and submission
Bondage and discipline
I'm not looking for anything fictional
thank you for your time

Also, look for MAsterFireMaam.. her sigline has a link to books as well.

There are a couple of folks on the site who have excellent book lists.  Look for the profiles for ResidentSadist and MasterFireMaam.  I believe they both have links to an extensive list of books on their signature lines.

I was thinking real life.  The school of hard knocks, experience  ya know that kinda thing.

I have noticed a few books that on the surface come off as being informational, usually written by dom or domme about their own experiences.  And while that's primarily true it reads more like it was written for the erotica fans.  This could have been an editor or the author deciding the book needed a wider audience, either way it becomes more fiction in practice than real life.  Just my .02 cents.

Midori's book The Wild Side of Sex is a good one.

Read the book on Love Languages...probably as good as any to help make all this work

You could of course go for the proverbial jugular on these topics and simply get married.

That made me shudder - and not in the good way!

Somehow I knew you'd have something to say about that, Nueva.

LOL indeed.

Not books but http://www.bdsmlibrary.com/stories/ has some damn good erotic D/s stories!

leadership527 -> RE: A desire for understanding (11/7/2008 6:59:02 AM)

~fr~ I'm not qualified to talk about all the whips and chains stuff, but insofar as I'm concerned, the best books available about D/s are seen in the business section of your local borders. In general, the leadership books available in the business section are every so much better thought out than anything I've seen in any BDSM book. You'll also want to check out the behavioral psychology section for information on how us humans operate before trying to mold a sub.

Jay Wiseman's "SM 101" is still the best starter book in my strong opinion followed closely by the Greenery Press books "The Bottoming Book" and "The Topping Book".

John Warren's "The Loving Dominant" and "Safe, Sane, Consensual and Fun" are also good.

Amazon.com is your friend.  That damn site can read your mind too, and gives you helpful little hints and friendly emails on items that may peak your interest since you search for books on subject matter (fill in the blank).

SuchAGirl -> RE: A desire for understanding (11/7/2008 3:26:52 PM)

Yes I agree, S&M 101 is what first jumped to mind for someone looking to educate themselves new to the scene.
