Tampons can be fatal? I never knew this.
Maybe Dnomyar should have pyjamas made of them.

Tampons can kill you - rather violently, in fact: Toxic Shock Syndrome... it  can cause septicemia and... It's not a pretty death.

As for the hormones and all that... women experience these fluctuations monthly, and men have testosterone surges every day. Hence the murderous rampages, violence and blah blah blah. Unless they had their bollocks cut off.

So... neither gender is immune to 'feeling hormonal'. It's just that patriarchal misogyny has managed to make women feel they are somewhat handicapped by nature. I always have a happy period, even if the cramps are bad, because it means my body is working as it should be. And that I'm not up the duff: always something to be thankful for  .

Oh my god, I thought it was just me...tea works for you too? I dunno what it is about it...but I understand the cramps. before I was on birth control I'd be out of commission for 7-9 days a month. Cramps so painful I'd be sobbing and curled in a ball...exhaustion so bad I couldn't walk five feet without passing out again...ughh. I'm on an uber hormone bc, so it really helps. And while I still have sucky cramps and will never have a happy period (unless it means no period, which means pregnant, which is definitely a happy thing!) they're at least more tolerable.

Tea, Sunshine, 16 blankets, or a heating pad.. really, anything warm... But Tea is great... Lots of sugar.... And of course, I not only have the bad cramps that really don't seem to effect (affect... I really don't know for sure... lol) my tummy much, but they shoot straight down my thighs which makes walking pretty much out of the question, but I also get the REALLY sharp pains in my side 2 weeks before hand... I was put on B/C when I was 11 for the ovary problems.... REally doesn't help much though... So sharp pains 2 weeks before, PMS a week before, and just BLACH the week of.... so yes, I have about 9-10 days a month where I can just be happy! lol

I had no idea that insanity was readily available.
Have been trying to tap into this stuff for years.
So what's that horrible men stuff all about?
Tell me I won't give the game away.

Ya know, I just don't find my period all that bad.  I get mild cramps now and then, sometimes a headache, sometimes slightly irritable, but mostly, I wouldn't even notice but for the telltale blood in my chonies.  I don't think we do eachother any favors by mythologizing how baaaaaaaad it is.  I should hope it isn't notably bad for most of us.

*chuckles* I wrote a similiar rant on LJ once upon a time. I wonder if they are keeping the slogan just because we remember it. Even if it's a hateful remembering.

believe me Racquelle i am in no way mythologizing how very bad my period/cramps were. and i highly doubt anyone else either. not every one has "happy periods" like you sweetie. dont make us all sound like liers cuz youve never had a totoaly horrible one.
