Someone recommended douching. Douching messes with the PH balance of the vagina. This was a tough one for me growing up because douching was still acceptable and expected, but my mother who was a nurse told me that it was unhealthy and caused yeast infections.

Me, I would never place any food into my vagina. The only times I ever had a yeast infection were from some antibiotics and after a cone biopsy, which I was told I would expect. But I do know some women are very prone to getting them very easily.

Douching is frowned on by most gynocologists. It affects the PH balance and does not do any good. The vagina cleans and lubricates itself most the time. Douching disturbs that. My mom used tot ell me allt he time douch you'll be cleaner smell better and she asked her gynochologist once and she said actually no I don't recomend douching.

Incidentially she gets tons more yeast infections than I do. I am prone to them really badly but I get one like once a year or so Course now that I've said that I prolly will get one lol.

Hi Blueisis,

If your dom or you have multiple partners then they may be the carrier and is transmitting it back and forth among his partners. Also make sure any toy you have used is cleaned with a bleach and water solution or those bleach wipes to kill off any germs that may reside on them. Also plain yogurt can be inserted into the vagina and will help the yeast infection. Roe

Yeah, this happened to a friend of mine in college who was dating a guy who she knew was also seeing someone else. She couldn't figure out why she was getting so many yeast infections - then she befriended the other woman and learned the woman suffered from persistant candidiasis (basically, yeast overgrowth as an ongoing condition). Ick! I've always wondered since then, did the guy have to have really bad hygiene, or would it not have mattered because of how yeast is transported by males?

Anyway, this webpage offers a simple "home yeast balance test" - I have no idea whether it works! http://www.synergy-health.co.uk/articles/yeast_infections20040628.html .
