This is the day I have set for  my quit date. I set it well over a month ago so I could try and bring the amount I smoke and change trigger times, like waiting at least an hour in the morning, not smoking after every meal, ect.
Last week I was down to 4 a day, I rarely if ever smoke an entire cigarette at once.  3-4 puffs are general enough to get by for a while.
Friday I got down to 3 a day but was much more difficult.
One thing that sets off a panic attack (primarly reason I never could quit) is knowing there is only 1-2 let in a pack which happened the other night. I did get through it without running out late at night, but once my disallowed time to smoke I have set was over I was quickly going down the street getting that pack, which btw is all goes right will be my last pack.

I do take wellbrutrin at 300mg which is a doubled doses over common dosing (zyban is the same chemical) along with another anti-d. Immediately after starting the wellbrutrin my smoking cut down by half or more.
I do take xanax for anxiety everyday.
So my mental well being should be helped by this.

I dont want to go to nicotine replacement, to me that replacing one nic habit for another which means a longer withdrawal.

I have heard to many negatives about Chatrix most especially those that take mental medications so have rejected that.

I would like to quit holistically.
Most herbal smoking cessations product seem to cover mental wellbeing and I dont want to combine those with my medication.

As I had mentioned to T regarding his father I have read alot about lobelia and bought some, it seems to help with the cravings tho the fda denies this factor, they dont deny it is good for the lungs for the bronchial tubes.

Im curious if anyone else used an alternative way to quit and what did they use besides the expensive gimmick packages.

I'm 2 days from Q day and nervous as a mouse with a cat watching it.

I have tried before but the anxiety and will power has always defeated me. But I really want to do this but Im at the bejesus second guessing and cold feet stage. One problem is no mattter what I do to try and ignore it, it stays at the first leve of my brain, except when sleeping. Perhaps I should sleep for the next several weeks, or find a dr that will put me in a self induced coma till all the primary effects are out. LOL I wish.  I think I could deal with the secondary after getting everything out of my system.

Hey wish I could find those cimminon oil dipped toothpicks they woud be a great deterent for the hand to mouth thing but havent seen them since I was a teen.

So any input, holistic means or suggestions would help.

You can buy cinnamon toothpicks, I believe they are called Fire-Pix but can't remember for sure. Anyway, you can get them online too.

Instead of buying them though, they are really easy to make with Cinnamon Bark Oil. When we were kids we used to make all different flavors of them too with those tiny bottles of flavoring that you use to make hard candy.

well Duh I never thought of that. I can get Cinnamon Bark Oil at one of the numerous health food or vitamin store.
