hey holly, i took a vitb6 supplement for 18 months before i could get the surgery done. helped wonders.

don't get both hands done at once if you get it done. can you imagine, complete helplessness. can't even wipe yourself!

i only had one done and it was major pain in the butt (not quite literally), but recovery was pretty fast. the threat of a little old lady physio (the cruelest, most sadistic ones i hear), motivated me!

I want to thank all who posted.

Yesterday when i wrote this thread i was fully prepared to cancel the appt today. Thanks to the encouragement here i had the test this morning. It was a bit uncomfortable but not nearly as bad as i first thought.

Thanks to all of you again!!!

Glad it wasn't an awful experience Hol. :)

Thanks to all who posted. The results were not what i wanted to hear. In a few months i went from nothing to Moderate/Severe. According to the Neuro if i cross the line to"severe" the surgery will be less effective and it got bad pretty fast so there is a time factor involved. The neuro has nothing to lose by telling me this, as he does not do these surgeries. Looks like i will be a bit inconvienced over the holidays, damnit. One handed gift wrapping? Everyone is going to get their gifts in a Walmart bag.

I did have the sense to buy a huge, obnoxious brace which will hopefully help to buffalo the LoudOne. If he sees me in a big splint now i am hoping the one on after surgery will not freak him out too much. He is very protective

Stock up on gift bags and tissue paper.  Write out gift tags ahead of time!  Or there is always the almighty giftcard!  Just take care of yourself.  One imperfect holiday is no big deal.  Good luck with the surgery!
