I'm going to Las Vegas for a few weeks after the Christmas madness, I wonder if anyone would be kind enough to let me know of any entertainments or thrashes going on in that would arouse the interests of an Eccentric Dominant English couple let loose in Sin City in January?

I hear Donny & Marie Osmond have a contract with one of the casino showrooms (the Orleans, maybe?) until well into 2010.  [:)]

If I were going to Vegas, I'd be checking out a Cirque du Soleil show at the Bellagio or Penn & Teller at the Rio.

the pool.  That time of the year is awesome there.  I wish I was there.  Phoenix is nice that time of year.  I doubt you will be board in Vegas, it is built for adults.  Try to see a show.  Also some good chefs have left New York to ply in Vegas.

The Carnival Bar outside of Harrah's, Friday afternoons, a live 70's shows that is hysterical.  Free of charge. It's an open-air bar.

I know the carnival bar, there's a really incredible ice cream parlour next to it. I always catch that show while the feet cool after the march up from the Mandalay bay. I'm grateful for the suggestions, thanks.
Last time we were there, I won a good few bob in the Bellagio and spent the lot in a mad night, emerging shaky legged and wearing the most vulgar diamond rings I've ever seen. It was a great bonus as things had been a bit quiet up till then.
At least I know to take my own  absinthe this time.

Research the hotels via the interent and look at shows before you go and get tickets at least 10 days in advance (you can pick up there) if you wait till the last minute you will have a hard time getting tickets for most good shows.
Also if you look for shows on the web they will give you the dates and times and what seats are open.

You can walk the strip, and a cab to downtown is well worth it after it is noght fall they have a free show under the canopy,

There is a rail going from the MGM for about 6 miles that will take you along the strip you can get an all day pass or each ticket is $5  (insteadof walking the strip and it drops you off in different hotels

Here is one link for shows, just tyoe in las vegas shoes and a ton info

If you dont mind heights, the view from the top of the Stratosphere Tower at night is well worth a try. Next time I go I intend to take a trip down the Grand Canyon. It seems criminal to have been so close and not done that.

If you are there midweek and it isnt busy, some hotels upgrade the room one level for free. The meal comps in the casinos are worthwhile too.

You have to go to "Hugo's Cellar" at the 4 Queens for dinner.
The chocolate factory with it's cactus garden should be on your list.
Circus Circus has free circus acts.
The Consumer Electronics Show will be from the 8 to 11 January at the convention center.

Cirque du Soleil also has an erotic type show at the New York New York Hotel called "Zumanity".  I haven't seen it, but every Cirque show I have seen has blown me away...
