i fully agree with everything Tempting expressed.

Amayos, a wonderful read.  i will add at least the last 3 paragraphs to my daily readings as their point rang very close to home for me.  As you have referred to my Master as brilliant for what he has so far led me to overcome, the same would apply to you for what you have done.  This is the next area we are focusing on with me, and not an easy one at that.

To the OP, love yourself.  Express yourself.  And do not enter with fear.

girlie,

Thank you, and I will forward those comments to Gina; it will thrill her to know you took her words to heart.

in this day & age , size does not matter , its the size of your heart that counts the most ,

Being a very overweight switch who for the most part still plays on the bottom, it is what Your Master thinks and feels about you that you most need to worry about.  My roommate and best friend is a Domme, she loves the plus size figure.  To quote her.."you have so much beautiful skin to work with"  Several that I have known say they like the plus size becuase they don't look like they will break so easily.  You will find quite a few plus size women on the scene because for some reason we seem to more accepted here.  I know that I am eternally greatful for that.
Bev

I know this may not be the most appreciated resource, given the delicate subject—but perhaps this link may offer food for thought? It is authored by one of my former submissives who went from 235 pounds to 114 pounds within a year during her service to me.

Reap what you may from it.

Can you please supply us with the details? I imagine you locked her up in the basement, probably in chains --- and gave her some radical version of the South Beach Diet in combination with forced enemas. What else was incorporated, forced treamilling? Also, was Dr. Phil involved in any way?

ownedgirlie -> RE: Overweight slaves in the public scene (3/21/2006 9:40:26 PM)

LOL cloudboy you kill me sometimes.  Actually if you had continued reading, you would have seen he already answered your question, just two posts from what you quoted.

my Master, on the other hand, beats me to a bloody pulp whenever i so much as ask for a pea....

c'mon already, can we get back to the real topic?

There seems to be a cultural divide between myself and the majority here. I do not see being overweight simply as some sort of "lifestyle choice," but I do see it as a health and self esteem problem.

cloudboy no one is saying that being overweight is healthy, but you took a question about the mind and turned into one about the body. The fact is that i know tiny girls who have low self esteem and would not feel comfortable in a public scene. No one was asking if you thought she had a health problem. I myself have been busting my ass to lose weight and i have lost 70 lbs in less then a year. Why? so that i could do a public scene? no. i am doing it for my own health, but the fact remains that even if i were to become supper skinny, i will have to still get my mind right. we as humans need to learn that just because we think it, doesnt mean we should say it.

Hello
70 lbs in less than a year?  you go!!   I am in the middle of weight loss myself.  I know on this thread people are getting hostile and the point was not weight loss advise.  But...I would love to know how you did it. for me at least it has to do with environment.  Just because I have changed does not mean the peope around me have.  It is hard to say no to them and have them understand.

Most those weight loss pills work by dehydrating your body. our body is 90 Percent water.

the human race has become increasingly creative in our pill form weight loss, they can trap the oils and fat for elimination, increase bowel movements, increase metabolism, produce nausea and inability to eat, are vitamins coated in anesthetic so we don't feel hunger, reduce depression, stabalize our mood, and of course make us pee more.  Will wonders never cease.

Sorry, I read your 1st post then skipped what everyone else wrote. Simple question is this, if something bothers you enough to be self concious about it, why not fix it? I know the answer is not as easy as the question in your mind, but it is. I'm sure at some point over the years you tried a diet of some kind. I'm sure you lost a few pounds or so. Simply said odds are you already know how to lose the weight. Odds are whoever you seek will be happy with you losing the weight and feeling better about yourself. So go ahead and get started on it.
On a side note, I run a weight loss system. I can give you advice and answer questions. Feel free to ask if you need.

duncan I ask....please tell me more

Yes try to lose some weight before going.. Even if it's just a few pounds-It will make you feel good that you lost something.

shesinparties -> RE: Overweight slaves in the public scene (3/22/2006 2:06:11 PM)

Ooh, touchy subject!
I liked the advice about getting your nails or hair done. I always feel like a goddess when someone else does my makeup!
Or, my personal technique: I lift weights. Now whenever I feel less than pretty I just think "Hell, I can sled press any S.O.B. in the room!" and I stop worrying.
Best of luck to you!

LostLenore -> RE: Overweight slaves in the public scene (3/22/2006 2:23:12 PM)

With more than half of Americans now considered overweight (and by whose standards anyway?), maybe we're the shape of things to come.  Weighing 300 pounds hasn't slowed me down one bit as a dominatrix.  Sexy comes in all sizes, so go ahead and strut your stuff!

IntimacyAngel -> RE: Overweight slaves in the public scene (3/23/2006 10:20:20 PM)

Hello asian slave:

My name is angel. I identify as a submissive, slave but I am also an overweight, compulsive overeater. I  recently found a wonderful group called Recovery in the Lifestyle: http://www.recoveryinthelifestyle.com/

It's a 12-step based program which has been a tremendous help to all aspects of my life in the short period of time that I have been attending meetings. I am grateful that I had a special (submissive) friend share with me through her experiences, strength and hope in the program.

Because she exhibits beautiful inner peace and confidence, she has inspired me to follow a path to my own personal recovery.

I do not know if this is your issue or if the program is for you, but thought I would share my enlightenment with you.

In graditude & submission,

slave angel

ORIGINAL: cloudboy  I'd rather stick to the facts. Let's looke at them, shall we?

>From 1960 to 1980, the prevalence of obesity among adults in the United States was relatively stable; however, recent findings from NHANES showed that 3 of 10 US adults are obese (figure 3).8,37 In addition to increasing mortality from all causes, obesity is closely linked to hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, gallbladder disease, osteoarthritis, coronary heart disease, stroke, and sleep apnea and other respiratory problems. Also, increasing evidence suggests that it is a risk factor for endometrial, breast, prostate, and colon cancer <

This is not the ground on which you want to build a "feel good about yourself" fest. A person cannot put themselves at risk, as described above, and feel very good about themselves. At best, they can put the issue out of their minds, but the elephant will always be in the room with them. I've never said that women have to look like the stick figures in modeling magazines and hollywood films, but no one should be comfortable being obese.
Here are some more facts: http://www.bigfatfacts.com/ What you will find there is rather astonishing really.  I strongly recommend reading it.  :) What surprises me the most though is that people generally assume that if someone is heavy and self-conscious, they must be self conscious because they are heavy.  Perhaps they became heavy because they were self-conscious in the first place.  Every person has a different story behind who they are.  To judge someone based simply on appearance is presumptuous and rude in my opinion.   Self-acceptance will always be the key regardless of one's weight, size, or body type.  I know people who have lost hundreds of pounds and still are not happy with themselves.  I have a lot of weight I'd like to lose but I refuse to base my health on how many pounds I weigh.  Health is directly related to activity - not to weight. If you're 50 lbs overweight and you stay active, chances are you'll be much healthier than the skinny person who sits on the couch 24/7. With regards to the OP:  I once felt as she did.  I was really afraid to go to lifestyle functions in general because I thought everyone was going to look like Masuimi Max.  I found that there were people of all ages, shapes, sizes, colors, etc.  They welcomed me with open arms and over time, they have helped me on my own path to acceptance.  It was really nice to read all of the posts.  Most of them seemed very genuine and warm.  :)  It rocked my socks!  Well wishes, Cav's ally

LL1aintbehavin -> RE: Overweight slaves in the public scene (3/24/2006 7:25:39 AM)

I am also what people refer to as BBW.  I guess i never think of myself in those terms, i am just me.
Two months ago i went to a dungeon for the first time.  People there play either totally nude or with thongs, underwear depending on their comfort level.  I had the same worries as have never been naked in front of more than one person at a time, that being my significant other.
I deceded that at home i always play in the buff, to go for it and take it all off.  I enjoyed myself very much.
The best thing happened afterwards.  Another couple was playing beside us.  We were talking afterwards, and she said that watching us play, and our connection and enjoyment of what we were doing was a beautiful thing to watch.  No comment about my size or anything else, but that the scene was what she found so touching.
I realizes then that observers are not looking at what your body looks like, but how you both interact and the fun that you have.
I have no problems stripping down in front of others now, and am able to enjoy the exhibitionist side of myself and just enjoy.
Do what you want to do, and damn anyone that doesn't like it.  This lifestyle is meant to be enjoyed to the fullest, anyless less and you are cheating yourself out of a wonderful experience.

ravn -> RE: Overweight slaves in the public scene (3/24/2006 8:15:08 AM)

i'm not perfect myself, i don't think anyone is, even my Master has allowed that He isn't perfect. Don't worry about your weight or how you look, worry about being attentive to your Master and His needs and just being a good subbie/slave/pet and everyone will envy Him because He has you/ It's not about looks, it's about attitude

fyreredsub -> RE: Overweight slaves in the public scene (3/24/2006 9:04:25 AM)

oh why can't i find a man like you around
here>? pouts................

to the Op...just be yourself hun..........the lifestyle is made up of all sizes

sadists are more worried about the whipping marks than your size...
master worry more about how well you serve under direction....

you'll be and do fine

STMangel -> RE: Overweight slaves in the public scene (3/24/2006 9:12:40 AM)

HELLO: this is a very touchy subject for me.Am a collared slave very over weight. Have only gotten into public play once, and was very self concious. Have alway had a weight problem and now am on the down side of middle age. People have accepted me for who and how i apear but very few accept me as a prospect for there sub/slave. Master has, and no we have not played in public yet. And yes He is respectful about my size and is encouraging me to work on my weight problem. I think it is how He approached me with, He doesnot degrad me about being fat, but encourages me to look after myself and to loss what I can.I do not think that it should matter in public play, as long as you dont make an issue out of it and the Person you are with doesnot make an issue with it.
