ORIGINAL: nelbot Does anyone out there have TMJ? <snip>.... but does anyone have any suggestions for dealing with the jaw discomfort and increasing range of motion so that I will be able to open my mouth wider? Any suggestions from people dealing with this problem would be most welcome. I have TMJ [:o], from dental malpractice back in 1986. [:@] The pain was daily and excruciating for over ten years, until I spent thousands of dollars, underwent a few different procedures, and care from several practitioners. One of the "cures" actually made the situation worse. ALL of them told me not to open my mouth wide, and not to even eat a hot dog (lol...hot dog...yeah right! [:D]). Fortunately, for me, I've never been a fan of giving oral sex, so it was no loss to me, on that end. In spite of having a "big" mouth...my mouth actually is quite small. [:D] Anyway, the pain I experienced would never make me even "try" to open wide for anyone. ANY overextension can set the pain back in motion, and I don't feel anyone is worth that type of pain. It's not the "good" pain, as I'm sure you know. (And now I have the Doctor's note excusing me! [sm=lol.gif]) Something you might consider, what if you're going down on him, and your jaw locks?????? Oh, the horror story you'll be posting then. Honestly, I would recommend that two find another way to enjoy one another, if you truly treasure your well being. On the general side of painful things...besides an earache, I don't know a worse pain. The earache will usually get better...the TMJ...usually doesn't go away. K
