that fumes from hot vinegar act as a crude bronchodilator for those with bad colds...or asthmatics who find themselves without a rescue inhaler..

I toss vinegar in my humidifier ..to keep the water and air fresh.

also, vinegar can be used as a homemade tool to check for cervical cancer.  Putting vinegar droplets on cervical cells, if the cells turn white (similar to the white bubbling effect of hyrdrogen peroxide) it is likely that area has cancerous cells.

For those who enjoy medical play, this is a harmless yet effective and cheap way to detect illness between pap smears ;).

I use white vinegar but I would imagine that any kind of vinegar would suffice.

White vinegar is used frequently in cleaning.
I run a cup through my perk coffee pot - followed by several cups of water to clean the insides.
I use white vinegar and 70% isopropyl alcohol  (equal parts of each) as an ear flush.  I used to get swimmers ear at least once a month - but I haven't had it once since I've started the - at least once a week flush.

I would go with white vinegar for anything human body related.

I hadn't heard of that but it just got added to my 'homeopathic' notebook. I always have sweet oil around the house but I'm interested in trying the vinegar/alcohol mix. Thank you !

Another useful cure of nature is sea salt and water - good aftercare for body piercings and boo-boos.

Vinegar has alot of uses. It was actually recently I found out it can cure heartburn. I don't know what I ate to cause the heartburn, but it was not pleasant. I went down to the olman's and he told me to take a tablespoon of vinegar. Anyone who has done that knows what it can be like especially with heartburn, but poof, within about a minute the heartburn was gone.

One of the best things you can do with vinegar is to ingest it. I have gotten away from salad dressings and like to use vinegar, sometimes mixed with sour cream. Also vinegar can be sprinkled on most foods, and if you have a tendency to use table salt, the vinegar reduces the amount needed. Even if you don't like the taste of straight vinegar, it can enhance the flavor of many foods.

The health benefits have been touted all over the place, and some of my sources say you don't need the fancy vinegar, just simple apple cider vinegar.

Although I haven't heard of boiling it or whatever and breathing the fumes, there is good reason to believe that it is effective. I might just give it a try someday when I am not breathing so well (I smoke ALOT).

So thanks for the tip. I too will be keeping it on file.

Cider Vinegar for digestion, hope you are not drinking white.

If you do not have lemon juice, vinegar works just as well as a greenery preservative (makes lettuce last and stay crispy for up to 4 hours) if diluted 1/3 with water with the lettuce of course shredded by hand or with a non metal knife.  Never cut lettuce or (the like) cabbage with a metal utensil, the metal is what creates the brown marks (as well as stale air).  Keep lettuce under cold water with vinegar/lemon water for up to 17 hours.

Boiling white vinegar with half solution of water can rid of the tobacco smell in your home, faster, less expensive and non toxic. Put a fan on and never leave it unattended of course.

I take two tablespoons of Bragg raw unfiltered organic apple cider vinegar every morning.  It's good for you.

The car got skunked a couple of years ago. I put small bowls of white vinegar in the car and in the garage. This worked so well that the skunk smell was effectively counteracted for the week until it finally wore off.

I pour white vinegar into the wash whenever the landladies washing machine starts to funk up my towels, also clean out the fridge with it.
