MsStarlett -> Confusing subs. (11/24/2008 4:12:21 AM)

Ok.  I can't be the only person who confuses subs around here.  I think the A#1 reason I like subs with photos on their profiles is so I can keep the little boogers straight!  So many have nics that include some form of "Sub, Slave, or Slv" + the numbers 2 or 4 and the letter U is the only one ever capitolized  that I can NOT be held accountable for remembering which is which without a frelling photo.

This morning, I got a message from a guy called "westend**"... I thought it was from my "westpet".  *Gees*  People... I'm old.  I don't wear my glasses.  Gimme a break.

Then there are all the ones who deleted their accounts and came back as someone else and I'm supposed to remember who is whom?  I think I've got at least SIX who talk to me off and on who used to have different names.  There is no bloody way on ghod's green earth for me to keep everyone's stories straight if the log is gone.  It's enough to make me want to start screaming "Shut up!  Just Shut up and leave me the hell alone!"

Ferns -> RE: Confusing subs. (11/24/2008 4:27:04 AM)

Hmmm... it's pretty simple for me.  If they aren't memorable, I'm not bothering with them.

Hmm... I wonder if there'd be a market for a CollarMe sub-tracking toolbar add-on for Firefox? [:-]

ChampagneMojito -> RE: Confusing subs. (11/24/2008 6:24:58 AM)

I agree - the pics are helpful, as is a well-developed profile.

That said, my boy and I met via a CM mail he wrote to me over 2 years ago, despite him having no pic/profile to speak of.  His note was polite and interesting, I responded and his reply was even better.

I guess I'm saying that profiles are like shop windows - interesting advertising devices to entice you in, but if the right door-to-door salesman approaches at a convenient time, and in a unique way, I wouldn't be overly concerned if they didn't have a great shop front.

Bottom line, a sub/slave who constantly changed their profile name and details would leave me somewhat suspicious.  Normal people (hehe, well, you know what I mean - the ones you can actually have a relationship with) tend to behave pretty predictably, most of the time.  I reckon they're the ones likely to be of interest in any event, so I wouldn't worry about losing track of anyone else.

Oh, thought this was about a ball of string and a strap-on.

Nevermind.

Indeed not Ma`am, ALL of you delightful Ladies confuse us.

Usako -> RE: Confusing subs. (11/24/2008 1:45:17 PM)

The pics are quite helpful and so are unique names, though if I really like someone I usually try to move conversation to a messenger service to make life easier.

MsStarlett -> RE: Confusing subs. (11/24/2008 5:45:56 PM)

Actually, all three of my collared (or almost collared) subs had no photo when we started talking.  But they all had unique names and remarkable personalities.

Y'all will just have to pardon me for being a touch bitchy today.  It's part of my nature.  The sheer numbers of 'do me wankers' have gotten on my last nerve lately.  I really DO try to be nice to everyone.  I read all of my C-mail, answer most of it... but sometimes, they just won't let you be nice.  I know the guys frequently complain that "All the Dommes are Gold diggers" - or something to that effect - but I'm starting to realize WHY so many FemDom profiles sound so mean.  They just won't LET you be nice.

undercover00756 -> RE: Confusing subs. (11/24/2008 5:52:28 PM)

I'll let You be nice, Ms Scarlett! A nice Domme on here would be such a nice change of pace......

mummyman321 -> RE: Confusing subs. (11/24/2008 7:28:31 PM)

Is a pic really required? How about a unique avitar? Or a crazy sub with an extreme fetish you will never forget! LOL

I had a similar day the other day with some ones that just wouldn't let up.It dawned on me that while many guys complain that *All Dommes are gold diggers* there  girls  that say * All of male subs are merely looking for someone to make em wank off.*
Okay I know that is harsh .. and there are Dommes that do not want the boys money and there are males that do not want someone to make em wank off   .. it just seems that those that don't fit the*All* bill have to swim a bit of an upstream battle some days to get through the BS ... but can't that be said for ANY lifestyle and any position?Just some days it is more overwhelming and we all need to vent ... not because we are mean or hate filled people .. we just need to let off some steam before we explode ..

hope your evening calms and tomorrow offers you an easier day

Not that I have ever emailed or msged you..but I would think my name would be hard to forget. :)   Originality counts...

DelilahDeb -> RE: Confusing subs. (11/25/2008 12:43:51 AM)

MsScarlett, that sort of come-ond-go CM persona was part of the reason that I dismissed the my first CM sub! It was his way of keeping control of the situation in his hands, and his hands alone. Result? He was on his second chance anyway. Punt!

But then, I don't cyber-dom, either by email or chat or IMs, so a sub has to be able to communicate well enough in real English sentences assembled into CM emails to keep my interest. The ones who address me as m'Lady on the first message and thereafter default back to Mistress or Ma'am (the priceless one was the idiot who couldn't even spell ma'am as "maam", no he kept calling me "mama" to which he got blocked), they hit the curb hard.

MsStarlett -> RE: Confusing subs. (11/25/2008 5:37:06 AM)

*Smooches* Undercover, Mummy & Dils.

The guys who post here regularly define the "Not a Wanker" column.   Feel good about it.  It's a very short list.  Funny how so many come to the boards to ask "How do I attract a Domme?" but fail to grasp that if they STAYED here and kept talking, they would have all Domme attention they can deal with.

See?   You guys only get a tiny taste of it.  When a Lady gets flooded with messages that all sound pretty much the same... from guys with nicks that sound the same... it gets difficult to FIND the 'good ones' in the sea of 'same old same old'.  They really do all start to look and sound alike.

Example?  Just got this note in my C-Mail yesterday.  Mind you, this was a first contact note and it was followed up by a request to be friends.

quote:

Just had to write You M'Lady!

Love all Your pictures!
Thank You for posting such nice photos.
I would love to give You rim jobs for hours anytime, anywhere You desired.
Very sweet Ass! I'd Love to lick and kiss Your shoes and feet too.
Wish You lived closer.

Thank You again Mistress for Your beautiful Pictures!

"Oral Serive On domme's demand"

I'm sure this guy thought this was a very nice, complimentary note.  He's currently wondering why I haven't written back to him and deleted his friends request.  Didn't he compliment me?  Didn't he tell me I was beautiful?  Didn't he offer to lick me for hours?  Isn't that what every woman wants?  To be treated like a hunk of meat?  After all, he thanked me first.

Do guys NOT SEE that notes like this are insulting?

hopelesslyInvo -> RE: Confusing subs. (11/25/2008 5:49:15 AM)

well... at least his letter started out "not being so bad".

anyway, if i feel the need to make a change of user names, my next will be "hallwayboy", or "guyinthehallway", or "hallmarkkid", or something... i'm sure that one won't cause much confusion or have any competition.

or maybe... "hallwayslv4U2Njoy"~

Very nicely said, Ms. Starlett - I agree 1,000% !!  Apparently there are times when manners are lost upon those that are sending the messages. Subtlety is useless - the only thing that gets through to them is 'go play on the RR tracks - I SAID NO !!'  (This ties in nicely to my rant yesterday on the 'Age & BDSM thread. Its so nice to know I'm not the only one thinking this !)

OttersSwim -> RE: Confusing subs. (11/25/2008 6:35:47 AM)

I wonder if you Ladies should not create a form letter reply for notes like you got:
Dear <subnamehere>:

Thank you for your recent communication to me on Collar Me.  Unfortunately, your message did not meet my minimum requirements of civility or decorum when contacting a Lady for the first time.

Your blatant and repeated reference to my:

_ass  _pussy  _breasts  _feet  _lips  _eyes/nose/ear/throat  [check one or more here]

was rude and totally inappropriate in a first contact situation with a dominant woman.

Further, your offer to:

_touch  _rub  _lick  _kiss  _penetrate  _dominate [check one or more here]

any part of my anatomy is totally is out of bounds.  You should be ashamed.

Finally, the included picture of your:

_cock

tipped the scales into showing you to be someone with whom I wish to NEVER have contact again.

In future, please keep these simple rules in mind when contacting a dominant Lady for the first time:

Read her profile
Be polite, respectful, entertaining, and brief
Introduce yourself and your vanilla interests first
Ask her about her interests
Be interested in her as a person, not a dombot
and...
Do not be overtly sexual, insidious, or crude
Don't trot out your fetish, or pictures of your cock
Do not offer anything but further polite, respectful, and entertaining communication

I have blocked your profile and deleted your message.  Please do not contact me further.  Good luck in your search.

Thank you,

The Management

Venatrix -> RE: Confusing subs. (11/25/2008 6:42:39 AM)

I don't let letters like that get me upset, largely because there are so many of them.  It's obvious the person hasn't read your profile, so read, delete, move on.  Some of them actually have a certain amusement value, but maybe I just have a higher tolerance for BS.  I've worked in the legal field for over 11 years, after all.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Confusing subs. (11/25/2008 7:01:40 AM)

The pictures are EVER so useful when the guy has a sub, switch, AND dominant profile up, and uses the same pic!  That's what I call convenience!  Or do I mean versatility?
