Being inclined to science, I am in search of an indication of the ratio of specifically m-d / bipolar in the various categories on the dominance scale, irrespective of gender.

Note that this is not a poll for any common depression.

Is borderline something other than m-d / bipolar?

(I add that in my opinion the polls ought to have a separate section, independent from random stupidity.)

Broderline Personality Disorder is totally different from a Bipolar illness, although one can have both at the same time.

Borderline is a personality disorder and bipolar (formerly called manic depressive) is a mood disorder. Mood disorders are a result of brain chemistry abnormalities and usually respond to medication.

Personality disorders usually result from early repeated trauma and are not controllable with medication.

My question, why do you say true sub and natural slave but not true dom or natural master? Am also wondering if there is such a thing as an unnatural sub/slave.

Good question. I distinguish between true and natural versus not so as I am interested in the mind that is either or not m-d / bipolar.
I ought to have specified also true dom.

I do not distinguish between true dom and natural master as I am not aware of a difference. Is there such a distinction?

While I agree to that statement, I think it applies equally to both subs and doms.

I am a true natural switch & don't have bipolar, even though some mental health professionals look disappointed when they have to admit that. Apparently they think it would explain so much.

I am studying the minds of people. However, the model I developed applies only to specific, true archetypes. I am interested in what is not in my model, hence my question in the switch forum, but as long as I do not understand such minds I cannot incorporate them into the model. It is like looking at vegetation. Some plants are familiar and recognizable, like tulips, but others just are unrecognizable green stuff.

So in this poll I specify the tulips and other known plants and those that are not recognizable vegetation are delegated to the switch or something else options, in a way serving as controls.

You actually would have to break things down a bit further, Rule, to actually locate any Significant corrolations. Are you refering to Bipolar I, Bipolar II, rapid cycling, slow cycling, atypical or typical? There are a lot of variations within the greater classification of "Bipolar" as a mood disorder. And Borderline Personality Disorder is just that - a Personality disorder, not a mood disorder - different causes, different symptoms, different treatment. Someone can have both, but it's certainly not a given. Bipolar disorder doesn't always respond to medication, and finding the right combination of medication to treat any given individual with Bipolar disorder can be harrowing and drawn out.

Personally I'm Bipolar II, rapid cycling, and I'm currently non medicated. (Though there are folks who Swear I should be on a half dozen different drugs for this stuff.) I'm a switch, but it has nothing to do with my Bipolar - it has to do with the fact that I don't like giving up control, nor do I want control over anyone other than myself - and those who very strongly want to either take or relinquish control tend to annoy me in short order. I fight for Balance in my life - which means that completely going with one or the other is anathema to me.

These polls are usually rather fuzzy, as there are only ten options to choose from, and as the number of respondents is expected to be low. So a high resolution result is not to be expected and probably would be useless if the poll could provide such a high resolution. Thus polls such as this provide merely indications or suggestions for further research (which is not an option for me).

Bipolar is rough. I don't have any experience with it, other than a good friend of mine who- every once in a while- runs out of money or motovation to get meds. He gets jittery, desperate, suicidal lots of times... what a mess. I drive up to VA and get him back on track, but thankfully he doesn't have episodes more than maybe twice a year.
