HEY!!! Lay off da Nutria (water rat)...you can eat it and wear it, terrify tourists with it..a truly versatile meat..

I don't know how real it is Pirate sorry... my encounters with the stuffed sheep guts was in NY made by a friend of my aunts from Scotland. I haven't tried it at Epcot..but it was there the last International Food Show they had. You can probably get ALL meat ingredients there in Tampa at the butchers..not the market and the rest at the market.

poenkitten who can cook foods from 8 countries and 7 regions.

Sage - one of these days I'll take you with me to an SCA event when someone is doing the Feast-o-crating that actually wants to do "authentic {insert culture here} recipes from the 14th century."   Trust me - it makes for some Interesting experiences!

It doesn't always make for necessarily "good" meals - but it Definately guarentees Interesting meals, strange recipes, and ingredients that you wouldn't have considered as possiblities.

I have been to a few Renn Fairs, never a SCA event
Tho there is a mega yummy Dom in Denton, Texas that does that. Even met him and got plundered.

Oh I would love to try haggis and 'blood pudding'

Blood Pudding / Black Pudding are the same thing

My advice ...... Get it from someone (ie a Butcher) who can state that its "real" and NOT been made with blood thats been dried then reconstituted........ It is very nice either cooked (steamed/shallow fried/broiled)

I know many people who prefer it raw , myself included.
