Talking trees of course.(With the added advantage of posting a totally unseasonal  RH Link)
What is your personal choice and why?  If you choose real, do you go for rooted or plopped in a pot?  And if you go for fake, do yo go with built in lights or get tied up adding your own?  Are your reasons eco related?  And what do you decorate your in?

I have a woodstove, a real tree would dry out and be a fire hazard inside of a few days.

Have you considered a real tree outside or would it not be practical?
I had a wood burner in a property about 10 years back and we had one 'plastic' inside and one real out.

I have 2 fake trees, one for the living room, one for the porch.  Both are hand decorated by me with lights and all sorts of sparkly, tacky crap

The main reason is ecological - why kill a tree for the sake of a week or two?  Then there's the cost of real trees, the mess they can make, the mess my 2 house rabbit can make with a real tree, the temptation for my boy dog to pee up it and blow the lights (and himself) up, and the hassle of getting rid of it afterwards.

Basically, I'm a lazy tightwad with a house full of animals
