bush lied, people died.  and why dont we look at his approval numbers before 9/11, then after.  in fact, lets look at the plane that hit the pentagon.  one hole in the middle, no 10 ft tall steel engines, and the story was kerosene burned hot enough to disintegrate aircraft grade aluminum.  thats bushs story... whatever

Don't get me wrong, I hate George Bush just as much as the next Canadian, but the movie Loose Change CAN NOT be taken as fact. It is not fact. It has been debunked multiple times. It was a poorly made documentary by conspiracy theorists. If anyone would like more info about this, feel free to send me a message, but please people, stop using that film in your arguments. Yes it is interesting to watch, but quoting it is really silly.

"52 months of uninterrupted job growth."  What planet does this fuck live on? I remember way back when Bush 1 took a tour of a supermarket to, you know, meet the proletariat. He was absolutely amazed at the scanner at checkout. He'd never seen one before. Was(is) an upscale grocery store real close to Tanglewood, which is where the Bushes lived. Very upscale area, around San Felipe, Westheimer, Memorial Drive, Woodway (all east-west, more or less) near the Galleria and the Houston Country Club. I went in there a couple times just to marvel at the produce, which was frakkin' amazing. Hardly anyone shopping there who wasn't Black, Hispanic, or rich old ladies. it dawned on me, after I saw a few folks with white cooking jackets on, that most of these people were Servants. Their owners are just so insulated from anything that has to do with the daily lives of the rest of us that we might as well be in different countries.

That whole Bush family is so fucking out of touch with reality. Just unreal.

Seems to me 1.9 million people losing their jobs is a pretty big gap in that period of "uninterrupted growth".

The fucker is a psychopath. BTW, that whole pretzel story is reputed to be a coverup for Bush's boozing.

Sanity -> RE: I'm beyond disgusted... at Bush (12/17/2008 3:55:28 AM)

You could just as easily be describing the Kerrys or the Kennedies.

The Obamas aren't exactly poor either.

I could go on...

Hey, I didn't vote for him!

Sorry, short rant to follow;

{rant}I feel slightly sorry for Bush, as he hasn't changed at all, and yet people suddenly are on his case for being a lame president.
They voted for him two freakin' times, he did exactly as was to be expected of him, and yet they don't approve all of a sudden.
What up with that, America - what's the big friggin' surprise here?
Pull up your pants and take some responsibility for having voted for this in the first instance.
Bush is a pretty simple dude: it's not like you couldn't have seen any of this coming from way down the block ahead of time.

what movie is that?  kerosene doesnt burn hot enough to smelt, let alone disintegrate aircraft aluminum.  thats just chemistry.

Aneirin -> RE: I'm beyond disgusted... at Bush (12/17/2008 5:34:45 AM)

No, Kerosene does not burn hot enough to disintegrate alluminium and certainly not near hot enough to do the same to steel, and there is steel on aircraft. That hole left in the building was a  pretty serious hole, perhaps the kind a missile would  cause. Where were the wings and the tailplane ?

So what.  Because their dad chooses to be President they have to be perfect kids and Bush is the perfect parent.  And yeah, its their fault the press constantly followed them when they were teenagers trying to find them doing things wrong, so people like you can act like they are somehow worse than many other teenagers who did and do the same thing in their youths.   I am sure if you somehow in the future become publically known for whatever reason, people who don't like your parents or kids or whatever will shove these pics in their faces as some vengence thing.  I love people who are hypocrits lol.

Well, first i don't agree on going after someone's kids for any reason, regardless of what they do. But I didn't find anything hypocritical about her statement. But that's not my point.

I have always wondered ... How did they get drunk at a party when they were with Secret Servicemen? Seriously, where was the protection? If they could sneak enough alcohol to get blasted, that same drink could have had poison in it!

Thanks for that; hadn't heard that before so I looked it up:

quote:

I wouldn’t want to draw conclusions as to the cause of this recent spate of malapropisms, but a new book by former British foreign secretary Lord Owen may supply a clue. In The Hubris Syndrome: Bush, Blair, and the Intoxication of Power, Owen recalls the time in 2002 when the commander in chief collapsed while sitting on a sofa watching a football game. (Official cause: he’d choked on a pretzel.) The presidential head hit a table on the way to the floor, he suffered an abrasion on the left side of his face, and a blood sample was rushed to Johns Hopkins, in Baltimore. Owen says he was told by a British doctor who had visited Johns Hopkins that lab technicians there found that the blood contained significant amounts of alcohol—this in the body of a man who claims he hasn’t had a drop in more than 20 years.

This is just so un-fucking-believable

"Yesterday, after an Iraqi journalist used “[t]wo of the worst insults in Islam” against him, an unfazed President Bush sat down with ABC’s Martha Raddatz for an exit interview in Iraq. When Raddatz asked Bush about his legacy, Bush first boasted about “52 months of uninterrupted job growth.” (There have been 1.9 million jobs lost in 2008 alone.)
Bush then turned to Iraq, and justified the war there by suggesting it had been al Qaeda’s home base. When Raddatz corrected him, Bush dismissively replied, “So what?“:

BUSH: One of the major theaters against al Qaeda turns out to have been Iraq. This is where al Qaeda said they were going to take their stand. This is where al Qaeda was hoping to take–
RADDATZ: But not until after the U.S. invaded.
BUSH: Yeah, that’s right. So what? The point is that al Qaeda said they’re going to take a stand. Well, first of all in the post-9/11 environment Saddam Hussein posed a threat. And then upon removal, al Qaeda decides to take a stand. "

Send this asshole an old shoe for Christmas.

Actually, that'd be fairly funny.

Soemone ought to set up a web page "www.sendbushyourshoes.com" and do a little PR campaign to get it seen....and get a kabillion people to mail their shoes to the White House before Jan. 20.

Probably the same planet as the OECD....whose statistics tend to support the assertion (increasing employment from 2002-2007, decreasing unemployment across the same time frame.....).
