I don't have an issue with the shopping analogy. It's not that easy to offend Me. Personally, I don't do any searching on the other side. I think very much like you do about the matter, OP. Most profiles are either too short to learn much about a person or they are so long that they bore the death out of you. I much prefer to get to cyber know (My term for getting to know folks through the boards) people from hearing their opinions on a variety of subjects, not just what they type up about themselves on a profile. It's more often the case that I've found something written on the boards to inspire Me to want to read someone's profile, than the other way around. Hearing about a person's life on this side shows Me much more about them than I could ever get from their profiles. I guess what I'm saying is, if I were searching, I'd more likely look to those who frequent the boards, where I've gotten a more well rounded look at them. The personalities just shine brighter on this side.
