Sooner or later, posts concerning some aspect of fetish hypnotism will get the warnings that hypnosis may cause harm, and the thread gets hijacked. ~Raises hand as one of the guilty parties~ So, let's bring it out into the open, and talk about it on purpose.

Do I believe harm may be done through fetish hypno-play? Of course, and I have the clients to prove it. Therefor I do my best to protect my pet and post on Boards and in my Journal variations on the ideal that hpnosis begins as a source of internal power. Harm may be done when that power is transfered to, hijacked or subjugated by, the fetish hypnotist.

TOPIC: What harm have YOU experienced through fetish hypnosis?

"You," being either the person who was harmed, or the hypnotist who accidentally did the harm. (If you did it on purpose, probably not in your self interest to post it, anywhere. That said, I'm a hypnotist, not legal counsel.)

TOPIC LIMITS:

1) Not the "may cause harm" warnings. Not the people you've heard of, talked to, or worked with as a counselor or consulting hypnotist because someone said they were hypnotized and this bad thing happened.

Please share your own experience to show the harms that people need to be aware of because you, as a real person, have experienced harm due to fetish hypnotism, or if you have accidently hurt someone through hypnosis.

2) Topic is hypnotism alone. Isolation, threat to self or others, drugs, alcohol, restraint, etc. bring in too many other considerations.

3) For the purposes of this Thread, experiencing an abreaction (unexpected emotional release based on past trauma) is not considered a harm, since the event/hurt/discomfort was already in place.

By the way, fetish hypnotists may very well expect to experience this, if they hypnotize enough people. Hopefully you have a better plan ready than simply trying to "cover it back up" through suggested amnesia or emerging them and telling them that's everything's all right, now.

Thank you for your participation and the insight it will give to other people,

MH
