We were so sorry to read this and Daddy and I will be sending good thoughts your way. As parents, we are ever vigilant, but these things can still happen, we must all remember. I know that I wince when looking at my own daughter, thinking about what can happen. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Sincerely,
Daddy and BLGirl

this brought tears to my eyes, what a horrible thing the happen, most especially to your daughter.  Its something her and the whole familly will never forget, once her physical help is up to par I would seriously consider therapy for ptsd.

My prayers and my healing energy goes out to her and all family surrounding her.

Thank you so much, everyone. She's doing much better -- her chest tube came out today, so we've started the countdown for her to be able to come home (we're shooting for having her home by New Years).

The story doesn't end with the hospital, my dears...

They released her from the hospital. She stepped into our house, and completely broke down. She's staying with her fiance's family, because she can't bear to be in our house.

That being said, they caught the man who did this to her -- this is his FOURTH violent assault that they know of, and he's been convicted TWICE and released.... and I am going to do anything I can to make sure that he never gets out of prison ever, ever, ever again!!!!

I am so sorry to hear about this. I'm glad your daughter is doing well physically, though mentally she may never really get through this. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts in prayers, and hope that the scumbag that did this will rot in jail for the rest of his life.

Hello A/all.  i am a friend of Dame Calla and Her extended family.  Let me tell the complete history of this attacker.  In 1993, he was convicted in Alabama of raping a 12 year-old girl.  He was in prison there for 10 years.  He was/is a registered sex offender in Alabama.  Upon his release there in 2003, he moved to Texas.  Shortly thereafter, he attcked and stabbed a 19 year-old girl and attempted rape but evidently didn't do the deed.  He was conviced of assault (which kept him "under the radar" as a sex offender in Texas) and served 5 years in Texas prison.  At the end of August this year, he was released and three months later he attacked, stabbed, and attempted rape of a 19 year-old girl in front of her young children.  Two weeks later, he violently attacked Dame Calla's daughter.  Those are the known attacks this scum has done. Thank goodness the local police made his capture and arrest a top priority.

i generally am not a violent person but my feeling on this scum is that (1) he should be castrated or even better given a penectomy.  Or (2) alternately, be given mandatory estrogen injections.  i hope he gets put away for good.  i have seen blogs in the local newspaper web site from a couple of bleeding hearts wanting his rehabilitation.  To hell with that.  He has had his chance.

Calla if we can do anything, sign anything or whatever, I would be more than happy to sign, protest, whatever!  I would think you don't need any of that with his history... but if there is anything we can do, please let us know!

I am hoping the best for you all...

Prayers for Calla and her family.  May your daughter regain her wholeness over time....and may the sick perpetrator of this crime face greater suffering than that of any of his victims.

Calla, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  Thank goodness that your daughter was found in time to save her life.  I hope she has a complete and speedy recovery.

I was the victim of a home invasion just a few months ago.  Thankfully no one was home and we were not injured.  We felt violated and vulnerable for quite some time afterward.

What I learned from the police and my insurance agent was that the only thing we can do is attempt to make our homes less appealing to the opportunistic criminal.  Those who want to get in, for whatever reason, will get in some way some how.

I now have extra security measures both inside and outside of my house, as well as my personal protection measures.

How horrifying. I don't even know what I would do in your position. My well wishes and prayers to your daughter and family.

I will also do what I can to be sure he never leaves prison.

I hope she makes a full recovery, both physically and mentally!  How horrible, how awful.
Why would anyone target young girls simply to stab them?  You say he only went where there were girls in the house.  Crazy.
Be well, thank you for posting this.

Damn..I am looking at the penal code for Texas and Calla should take to the DA with all of the evidence showing that he is a habitual sexual offender and that he should be procutsue(?) at the level of a first class felony.  Be sure to sure penal code 12.46, which allows usage of previous convictions in order to show the court about his behaviorisms to young women.

If you need any more help, Calla, I am using hanging around the computer, doing research for everyone in the family until after the first of the year, when I join Sir and Mistress in TN.

To yourMissTress -- i can certainly empathize with Your feeling of violation and vulnerability from a home break-in.  Not being a native
Texan, i have learned that it is legal in Texas to shoot and even kill a robber breaking into your home.  That happened this year in Houston.  There was another case this year which stretched the boundaries of that law.  A neighbor saw two men breaking in to his neighbor's house and starting to run away with the loot.  He got his gun, went out confronted them, and ended up shooting and killing both of them.  That case went to the grand jury.  i cannot recall the exact disposition but i think that the grand jury refused to return an indictment.  i think such a law is unique to Texas (the ol' west still reigns a bit).
