elegantalexis -> What introduce you to BDSM? (12/26/2008 9:20:24 AM)

With me, it was several movies.  Any one with Marquis De Sade in them (especially Quills and Waxwork) and Exit to Eden, where I did go out and purchase the book.  Before then I was interested anything by the Marquis, but I did not know where to find them.

I brought myself a flogger from a friend on ebay and LOVED the feel of it against my skin and got hooked, so to speak.  Now the flogger is gone (the perils of moving, alas) and I am looking to replenish my toy bag.

Quills was a great flick. Did you ever see 9½ Weeks? That flick has many hot scenes

No, I haven't.  I did see parts of Love in Paris or as its called Another 9 1/2 Weeks some time ago.  I wonder if either one is on demand.

there must be some way to obtain a copy, even if it means going to a brick and mortar and renting it. 9 1/2 Weeks is a classic. it really got my hunger going and introduced me to the concept of having a woman sub to a man.

I've seen 9 1/2 weeks and can say it did leave me wanting more.  The Blockbuster here doesn't have the other 9 1/2 weeks movies.  But what really got me interested was in doing research for a book I was writing myself.  I had planned on making it about a BDSM relationship and really knew very little about them, but was intrigued so I dove into it, learning what I could and became very much enamored with the idea of having a woman be completely submissive to my every desire, and even more so completely trusting that I will pleasure her beyond where she has been before.  Being married for 10 years to a woman who doesn't trust me at all, and doesn't submit at all and pretty much doesn't see the beauty and intimacy involved in pleasing me, has made me this way I believe.  Now I'm hooked even though I am sort of going a different way with the book, if I can ever find time to write the rest of it.

A close friend of ours actually performed in a local fetish troupe onstage several times a year. She got us tickets one show and we went, saw her getting spanked, and I turned to my husband and said "Honey, that looks like fun!" Went home and tried it, and have been in love ever since. I really love this friend of ours, she's been so good to us in helping us navigate through the whole process!

i think i was born kinky, my family is so straightlaced it's not funny.  i've always been an oddball, lol.  i must have seen something in a movie when i was young, i've always had an interest in bondage and spanking, it's expanded from those minor interests over the years.

Movies had nothing to do with my introduction.
It all had to do with my experiences as a child and my early teens:
Forceful confinement.
Sedation
Constant behavioral manipulation and control.
A lot happened in the 60s and 70s. Lot more than people realize with the government funded quacks and holier-than-thou authority concerning the raising of children.
Conditioning.

Usako -> RE: What introduce you to BDSM? (12/26/2008 2:24:12 PM)

The internet was the vehicle for my corruption.

IvyMorgan -> RE: What introduce you to BDSM? (12/26/2008 2:46:22 PM)

Childhood experiences.

Aszhrae -> RE: What introduce you to BDSM? (12/26/2008 3:39:54 PM)

I would not consider the internet a source of corruption but an outlet of pent up bdsm frustrations. However it would not be real and frustration becomes an appetite of wanting, desiring and pent up passions possible. To feel the physical gratification, euphoria of the endorphin rush and the freedom of simply being Usako.

How the virtual world change if we could have our senses experience bdsm from a distance. It is a frightful thought. Thankfully we can not and we can come here and make connections with those that share the lifestyle.

I had dreams about chaining and torturing naked women from the time I was very young.  So I was introduced to BDSM before I was even aware that the rest of the world knew about it too.

That's exactly what I was going to say....

Thunderbird56 -> RE: What introduce you to BDSM? (12/26/2008 5:22:54 PM)

I remember being all of 5, maybe 6 years old and seeing this circus/variety type show on TV. One of the performances was a man with a whip and his female partner in, I'm sure, a special form of  "quick release" clothing. He'd crack the whip and a sleeve would fall, then the other, then a blouse button ... he was whip-stripping her. Made quite an impression.
Of course, this was all the way back in the early '60's so they didn't take it too far, but considering the morals of the day, I'm surprised it got on TV at all. Remember? "Rob and Laura" had to have different beds!

Padriag -> RE: What introduce you to BDSM? (12/26/2008 9:04:35 PM)

I'm not entirely sure exactly what planted the seed.  I can remember having fantasies involving various forms of bondage and control at a fairly early age (say 8 or 9).  It wasn't sexual at that point, though that followed soon enough.  I suspect that one influence involved my early interest in the middle ages... stocks, pillories, the entire feudal structure of government.  Time and imagination did the rest.   I didn't actually discover BDSM until my mid twenties by which time I already had fully formed ideas and fantasies of my own device.

LadyPact -> RE: What introduce you to BDSM? (12/26/2008 9:24:12 PM)

In late 1999, a friend who happened to be a co-worker knelt in front of Me and asked Me to be his Mistress.

I wish I had some more enlightened, soul searching tale to tell, but that's the truth of the matter.

VAcontroldom -> RE: What introduce you to BDSM? (12/26/2008 9:38:25 PM)

My introduction was in college. The beds had posts. From there it was just a matter of finding materials to tie her with

Didn't get to the movies until years later
