let me put it this way - if Daddy doesn't do the laundry or grocery shop, He won't be able to wear clean shirts to the office and eat His favorite food for lunch on weekends.

i don't see it as less domly if He has to do His own laundy, grocery shop, tidy up the home office, etc etc

I see it two ways.  If you are the D and you want to do it, you will, and you won't be concerned about what others think.  There aren't dominant or submissive acts, what makes something one or the other is the motivation and intent behind it.  If you DON'T do the laundry that you really want to do because you think someone won't consider you domly, that's hardly a dominant motivation or intention.

The other is this...where did the notion come from that D or M types do nothing to help with the running of the household?  Or should I say nothing besides give out orders and beatings?  I find that idea to be lazy and slovenly.  The only exception being if the D or M is the one leaving the house to go to work all day and the s is home all day with the household maintenance being their only responsibility.   I enjoy the time that I spend cooking a meal or cleaning up after it.  I would not be comfortable with a sub doing everything all the time.

I wish someone would come dom the hell out of my laundry...one of the rugmonkeys got mad, knocked a pile of socks (aarrgh, my nemesis is scattered all over the floor now) and the dog walked all over them with her big dirty paws, oh dear GAWD how I hate to do the laundry.  Daddy's not a fan either, but will run a load if he needs to.  If he only knew the depths of my feelings for laundry, he would inflict it as the perfect punishment.  *ssshhh don't tell!!*

ok, so...i have this weird thing...i like doing laundry. some say it's not a dommy thing to do, but really, i don't care much about them. i see it as just a personal kink. do subbies also see it as not a dommy thing to do?

I would see it as a wonderful, glorious, delightful thing because that means *drumroll* I don't have to!!! *angels sing in the distance*

Call me the worst girl in the world but I hate housework. It's a testiment to my desire to serve and how much I love Val that I do it. But still, I look forward to the day when we can afford to have a cleaning service help. Or maybe, maybe, maybe, our "addition" (for lack of a better term) will love doing housework!

Good morning!
I think it depends on the mindset. I mean , I love doing housework. I will always ask if Daddy wants anything done while I am there. Also, i tend to just do things so he sometimes has to say, "don't , I'll get that." Some things he hates doing, some things, he likes doing HIS way so it all works...except for the shower. I hate cleaning bathtubs/showers. That's actually on my list of punishments, lol. Seriously, it is just a shore that either can be handled or delegated. Good luck!
Love,
Zechriel

TheEngineer's idea of doing laundry involves piling the clean stuff on the top of the dryer and fetching something clean to wear from there.  the first time i visited him, i did 16 loads of laundry in 3 days, and rescued a washerload of things from where they had fallen behind the dryer. hello, fire hazard!

now that we're living together/married, i do the laundry.  he cooks a great deal of the time, and will unload the dishwasher.  i pretty much do everything else.  we're both content with this.

I used to like doing laundry before I got fibromyalgia and realized just how many spoons are used up by the whole lugging baskets up and down stairs and reaching to hang and standing to fold. Probably when the boy starts coming over regularly or living here he'll do the lug up and down stairs and move through the machines, and I'll fold and hang and put away, since I know how I want it and where.

My meditative thing is dishes. But he'll probably get to do those too, since I sometimes have the choice of either standing to cook or standing to clean up.

Haha, this brings back a funny moment from a few weeks ago.  I live with my dominant partner and I generally keep house in most aspects.  One day we were just haging out, I happened to be dressed and in bed, and he happened to be naked.  He started folding the laundry from the basket on the dresser and then commented, "Hey, why am I the one naked and folding the laundry?"  We both chuckled, but it was because he just likes folding laundry, and he's also so picky about what gets folded how, how it is put away and what goes where, and I don't know if I'll ever get it straight so he still does it for now.  So no worries, it is not un-domly to do something you enjoy or just want it done by you.

I don't know, I think you'll have to come and try it out at my house first, and then I'll know.

Okayyyyyyyyyyyy, seriously... I do not see activities as dominant, it is the mindset behind it.  So dom the hell out of that laundry!
