ChastityLocked -> corsets... for men? (1/3/2006 10:35:04 AM)

are there special corsets for men? if not, what type should a guy get? i have "laying around" a overbust corset laying around, a womens one ofcourse, and i felt kinda odd in it, so mabye a underbust would be better? another issue i have is, i wouldnt have anyone to 'lace" it up in the back, so are there types of corsets where u can adjust it yourself? im semi tempted to get one, as it felt pretty good when i wore it. im not overweight by any strech nor out of shape, so im not trying to hide anything, but it felt like something i might wanna try further.

The proportions are different in mens and womens corsets, primarily in the waist to hip ratio. Get one that's made to measure and you won't have any problems.

As far as lacing yourself goes, it can be done with a standard back-lace corset, it just takes a bit of practice.

Yes there are many styles of corsets for men...the most luscious ones I like are at other-woman.com.

An underbust corset is the thing for men if they want to wear corsets. Mine is an underbust one, not too long, 4 hooks and feels lovely when laced tight [:D]

When I ordered mine I did ask about the differences in male/female anatomy and it´s effect on corset sizes,, The reply I got was basicly that I should simply follow the 4" rule (order a corset 4" smaller than your normal waist,, 6" if your waist is larger than 36")

Historically men wore corsets as part of everyday dress. I can't quite remember the time period - left my costume books at my other house. But there is a type of corset called an 's' bend, which I know can be made to fit the male figure. I can't help you with finding mass manufactured corsets to fit you, but there would be no problem if you bought one made to measure. I start with a basic block when I make them, and a male basic block is quite different from a female's (as you would expect), but is just as easy to convert into a corset. Any shape can be tailored to.

Lacing - corsets can be front laced. This means it would have to have very sturdy boning in the front panels to make up for the lack of busk, but they still work.

And as a side note - I put my male friend in a corset I made a couple of days ago. Obviously it didn't fit at the bust, but apart from that I laced him in tight and it looked fantastic!

Sorry this has turned out quite long, but its something I like! Good luck!!
