Ebay, does anyone use it for a source of affordable toys and pervertibles ?

Perhaps I should'nt do this, give people ideas, but this pervertible has a use, it gives a new definition to the term, play piercing

Yes, I have used ebay to buy a variety of toys. However, recently (at least in the states), ebay has made an effort to encourage that people pay via electronic payment. I have noticed that some of the sellers that used to sell toys are no longer selling via ebay. There are still a decent number but many of the sex toy sellers have had significant problems (both technically and for privacy reasons) selling via electronic sources. At one point it was actually harder to find someone who sold a sex toy via electronic payment then by money order.

I don't know about across the pond but here we have a section of ebay that require age verification before you can view the listings. While other useful lifestyle implements can be purchased outside this section the "Adult" section sells the standard sex toys and other associated items not appropriate for children.

No, as far as I know, there is not a verification of age to view item for sale, but there is a new ebay rule in that anything designed for kink has to be labelled as fancy dress, stage and theatre, or the one that made me laugh, was restraints, under the heading of escapology.

Otherwise, there are some pretty interesting things that come up in the section if you type in bondage, pages upon pages of it. Another laugh, was metal cock ring, that can be found under plumbing, in with the gaskets and seals, the vendor's description of what it is and how it is used is very creative.

eBay is less of a source than they once were.. the Mrs. Grundies complained.

Dom Depot and the Bondage on a Budget Store are still good sources (Home Depot and Harbor Freight Tools)

Sadly, eBay has a very conservative administration.  I was able to buy a "equestrian toy" (black leather flogger) and a "full body massager" (hitachi magic wand) there, but if you want anything overtly sexual, you're probably out of luck.  Pervertibles, sure, they can't censor EVERYTHING!  :)

We've bought huge amounts on ebay. Stocks, bondage chair, all kinds of restraints paddles and clothing. How you word your search makes a huge difference to what you find is available.

If you are in the States, go to the "Categories" Page, look for "Everything Else" and under that section there is a category called "Adult Only". I just checked and the "Adult Only" Verification page when you click on the link is still active. Once you have verified your age with Ebay you only need to click the "I Agree" button.

There are 13 categories within the "Adult Only" section. "Sex Accessories" and "Sex Toys" being two of them.

For "lifestyle" equipment - especially those with other uses (or that can claim other uses) I agree that the terminology can be extremely important.

I use to sell paddles on ebay and sold quite a few.  I wonder why I stopped?????

ebay is making changes with selling anything that might offend anyone anywhere.  Besides, it is now mostly corp sellers, selling stuff you can find for less locally and don't get hit with some really really high shipping charges people want you to pay.

Master has bought and sold "adult" items on ebay. And on one such item, the seller asked asked Him to specifically to send a money order( believe it might of been the cupping set). So many things can still be had on ebay if you know how to search for them.

I've bought a mass assortment of things off ebay. Hell I bought my wedding Dress for 1/4 of what it would have cost for the same dress in the local store.

over the years some of the more "sexual" in nature items have disappeared off ebay as i think they were told to cleanit up a bit but I've gotten some nice floggers and leather items off there.

Boots and intimate wear (new only).... i buy lots and lots of that on ebay cause they prices are soo much better

Well, the OP Is talking about pervertibles, rather than out-and-out bondage gear.

I buy crap-tons of stuff on ebay. Elastic bandages in bulk, shaft collars (the fact that this is the technical term for them, and you can use them as cock & ball adornments, gives me much juvenile amusement), old horse tack, medical equipment (gyno exam table, EMT extrication devices, splints), unusual types of locks and hasps... If you're creative and have a lot of free time, it's really a treasure trove.

BTW, the "fancy dress" thing appears to only apply to ebay.uk, as far as I can tell.

ebay is a great place to find pervertibles that come with great prices.  Another auction site i like to visit is  Fetish Auctioneer  which makes it easier to find things when i tire of the 'treasure hunt' on ebay.

The latest one I found, was replicas of Medieval slave collars made in stainless steel for a very affordable price, forced by ebay to list them under collectables.

I have used it in the past.  But specialty items like floggers and similar devices I feel are best left purchased directly from an artisan.  I have been disappointed with items purchased on the internet and would like to find someplace I can purchase direct.
