My cat will only acknowledge Bast as her name, she ignores the rest of the word
my ex had a cat we named Imp..short for Imp (ress) she was never allowed to know the rest of her name or she would have Queened all over the place instead of obeying commands like Sit..up..rollover.
Then there was Purvert named for his penchant for attacking dangling male parts in the bathroom and trying to nurse on my triangle piercing,
In'thig the spawn of a back alley panther and a persian who used to go sand shark fishing and never met a female of any species he wouldn't try for.
and
High John the Conqueror ( never met a floor he would walk on, made his way around the house via the furniture)

Of the dogs the oddest named were:
Col. John Renwick "Renny" ( named for a character from the Doc Savage books)
Joyboy an Irish setter we swore was gay..(boy could that dog POSE and mince..he was a Queen at heart (no offence guys))
Snowwolf a white timber wolf hydrid (it fit)
and
Sabertooth another wolf hybrid that bit my 2nd husband everytime he came to bed or near me or the kids..should have kept the dog and dumped the husband.

my late cat was named baddbutt. it was really baddass but the lil ones couldnt say that. some friends called him satan. black long haired with orange eyes . big boy too. attacked everybody but family and pets ,even birds and hamsters. did attack squirrels and wild birds.. once a neighbor ,drunk tried to grab me and baddbutt got between us and growled all puffed up. very scary site . the guy ran . miss my baby so.

A girlfriend gave me a kitten once...
As an "I'm dumping you, so here's your consolation" gift
I named it after her....

Bitch lived for three years before she got eaten by the next door neighbors Rottweiler
that, seriously, she teased a lot when it was chained up.... I guess one day the owners didn't put the dog on the chain and.......I have never owned another cat since

GreedyTop -> RE: Pet Names for Cats and Dogs (1/9/2009 11:22:10 PM)

MarksFantasyGirl -> RE: Pet Names for Cats and Dogs (1/10/2009 12:04:18 AM)

We had a dog named BarKiller When I was just a pup myself.

I also had a husky (I think) When I was little named Flower.  When she was a pup, she was all black with a strip of white that went from the tip of her nose, to the tip of her tail. So we named her after the skunk on Bambi.  It was kinda funny when she got older, she was mostly white with a bit of black on her.

I Had a brown dog named Snowball once too.  He was white as a pup, but became browner the older he got.  So I called Him Pookie.  After Garfield's teddybear.
