Aneirin -> Electroplay pervertables (1/8/2009 4:49:25 AM)

I seem to remember, years ago, or was it centuries, it seems as much,  I when learning about electrical testing and using an ancient magneto type insulation tester, the non intended uses for one of those devices. Then came the battery powered Megger, that one was easier to use. Anyway, does anyone actually use an insulation tester for electroplay, are they any good, or are my memories better than the reality ?

Also, the violet wand / ray devices, I understand the violet ray was a device from the end of the nineteenth century, so called quackery , but what is it's actual difference between the ray device and the more modern ,(I assume) violet wand machine ?

I understand the more modern wand machines were and are still used in the cosmetic industry, and that they lack power, is this true ?

Electrical play with "pervertables" sounds fun until you get into the specifics of actual use in a BDSM scene.

Magneto devices are potentially fun, but also potentially lethal. Often times, they are designed to produce very high voltages. The high voltage is felt as a very sharp electrical jolt. For some, this is fun. Depending upon design, the high voltage may have a high current potential. If the current can exceed about 50 mAmp, it can kill someone. Old telephones (early 1900's) had a magneto that has been used in electrical play. For less pain, a few of the coils could be removed. I would be extremely nervous playing with such a device even below the waist. Electrical burns hurt!

Violet wands are kinda like a miniature Tesla coil. They can produce a very nice shock. With a fine enough electrical contact patch, they will produce intense static shocks. I am not familiar with the "violet rays", but they appear to be almost the same device. Either way, something will light up with one of these. As with any other electric play, proceed with extreme caution. A fairly modern device may be safer than older designs. This may equate to lower power. Then again, the older glass tubes were made by craftsmen instead of the lowest bidder.

Have fun and play safe!

On December 27, 2008, I was introduced to the wonderful world of the.... electric flyswatter!!!

Highly recommended, especially as a surprise amidst other forms of touch.[;)]

Uncle Abdul is a legend in the SF Bay Area for his electrical play

Yes, I know abut thse things, I used to bat burning May and  June bugs, (basically cockchafers ) into the bushes with them. The voltage on the wires was sufficient enough to set fire to the dry exoskeleton of the bugs. I was always tempted to pull one of these things, (the swatter) apart, to see if it could be adapted into something else.

Photographic flash units are another thing that can be adapted, but with these things I am wary, as there are some pretty powerful flash units around.

The only other thing I have found and for those of you in the UK, is the butterfly TENS units, which are available for the high sum of £1 each at,' Poundstretchers', a thrift store in many UK towns, they can be found in the area of the store that sells medical supplies, condoms and such. Oh and for such a cheap device, they work well and are available in pastel blue and silver or pastel pink and silver. The 'butterfly' pad, can be unclipped for cleaning, an interesting fitment by press studs, something that make the mind work as to other possibilities with  the TENS unit, but I think I will read Uncle Abdul first, thanks to Vendaval for the link.

I have respect for anyone that can take that type of pain...If it is anything like a  EMG test. I've had many of those over the years and have come to dread them.

Once it took four men to hold me down during a two hour test... Ever muscle group in my body had needles inserted in the muscles followed by electrical shock. One of the worst two hours of my life.

Is the pain about the same...Anyone had both?

This site is not sexually orientated however it does have some interesting electrical how-to's including a 'glove taser' which is a homemade taser built into a glove.... kind of food for thought.

For those interested in high levels of pain... stun guns can be fun...

I have an array of them ranging from 65K to 500K volts. The 500K was used once then retired... 300K is my preferred level of pain. I share the same opinion as several 'pain sluts' I know who agree that the lower voltages (under 100K, including flyswatters) are far less enjoyable as the pain is much more of a stingy pain than a deep pain.

The way they work is they shoot voltage from one prong to the other, therefore there is minimal risk of stray current wondering to parts of the body where such a shock can be dangerous. I only play with them on muscles and would not attempt to use them on delicate places (such as male or female sexual areas). Fingers and toes are an ugly pain (in my opinion). Calves, thighs, bottoms, upper or lower arms & stomach are a nice deep pain that I (and many other's I've played with) like. I have not and would not use them around the spine either...

I prefer stun guns over other similar devices as they have much less of a risk of stray currents...

I love the pain of being cut deep, but have a bit too much self esteem to start cutting on myself. Electrical current can be used to simulate this pain quite accurately, but leave no wound. Lower current devices can be used to (quickly) drag across a large muscle to do this, although with higher current devices I do not toy with shocking more than a flash instant.

Just for reference, I also have a Violet Wand with many attachments, TENS unit & Eros Tech to compare stun gun play to... 300K stun guns are my favorite (when I let my masochistic side out).

PS - I've attached speaker wire to the probes of a stun gun and attached them to a chair of an unexpected play partner... which made for a very amusing dinner party ;) Just remember the current will travel from one probe to the other and placing them too far apart may create an overload to the system or create straying currents to undesirable areas.

Good to know, thanks! I've never had the nerve to try a stun gun, but I may have to get one now...

LPslittleclip -> RE: Electro play pervertables (1/14/2009 6:41:13 PM)

the main difference in the violet ray and wand is voltage however the newer models have good levels of voltage and a interrupt switch to quickly change ends. on the surface effect the smaller the area the contact the more intense the effect for example a light bulb in a wand has a large surface to contact spreading the effect around, and a small pick has a small point that focuses the effect. by varying the contact the effect can be changed. for the tens and Eros units a current flows from one conductor to another this causes the muscle to contract with the charge. placing pads at various parts of the Body can have some wonderfully effects. WARNING do not cross the heart as it can kill. now using different items on the units can be fun as well like a metal pie server it has a large flat surface for a mild sensation and used on edge it has a much greater effect at the same intensity. also if using it on anything piercing the skin the voltage must be reduced as the resistance of the skin is not there.
