being that i am more on the shy side, sometimes i will read but not reply or when i have questions ill just browse and see if there is a topic that is close to what i want to know.....it kinda sucks being shy (pardon language)

I admire your strength, that you're still answering,
so kick the shyness out the window hon :)
Make yourself proud.

I wish you enough.

For the fist six months i just lurked .  Then a question caught my eye and i worked up my courage and posted.  Since then i have been hooked on the fourms.  I ask my questions and got answers.  I think this is a great resource.

Well thanks to some very kind and open-minded folks here, I've become pretty comfy being active in the forums... So now you all are pretty much stuck with me for better or for worse... It's all the kind and open-minded peoples' fault, so don't blame me, blame them...

Let's see I have been on CM for 9 years now even though recently I got stupid and changed my profile and lost all my little thingies I had quite a few actually, but I started writing about two years ago. So it took me 7 years to get on the forums not that I didn't want to I just hadn't navigated to it. I have a lot of blond day's ??? strange for a redhead.... so with that said I admit that I changed my profile not thinking that I would lose all my little thingies that I worked so hard to get.....

I read more then I write, but I'm trying to add/ask more. For me it feels like a form of social anxiety. I used to get that IRL quite badly but managed to beat it back, but for some reason it seems to raise it's head when I'm posting online. So I'm going to tackle it the way I did IRL; keep doing it until I prove to myself that it's no big deal if somebody happens to disagree or think my question is stupid.

Hello Roguescharm,
I'm very happy that you've replied,
you're the kind of people I'm talking about.
It's a fear to overcome, and I know you can do it.

I hope to read you here more often,

Warm Greetingz

GoddezzT`

lol, thanks.
The trouble I have now is that I'm so new I don't really know what to ask.
I'll just bumble along until I have a better idea.

I doubt if this is a sub thing...just a people thing.

I often read the forums, especially the Ask a sub, and Ask a Mistress forums, but I don't think I've ever posted anything outside the humor section (and only a couple there). I don't think it's limited to subs... it's a people thing like you said. I'm a chatterbox when I get comfortable, but that takes a looong time; same as in person.

Are you sure about that?  Since the site was started at the tail end of 2002, that would be quite a feat.

im hugely opinionated and arrogant enough to believe that my opinions are worth making from time to time - and im thick skinned enough not to mind if someone has a pop at them - but i think that maybe some people arent sure of their opinions and are maybe a little afraid to expose themselves as 'silly'.

quite a few new posters start off with ........ 'this might sound silly but......'

i think when youre new and stuff, the ideas you have are kinda precious and fragile and your first tentative steps in trying to get a handle on yourself is very private and hitherto largely unshared.  so yes.

I don't think it's a sub thing. It's more of a general forum problem: a few posters and a lot of lurkers.

Collarme actually seems fairly healthy and open, and less prone to groupthink than some others I've been on, although a fair amount of that is inevitable.
