I've delivered babies for 25 years. I've seen hundreds of v-jay-jays. From my point of view the snug fitters whose owner has good control are the best--breath--relax, don't push-- kind of control. Those moms seldom tear so it makes my job easier.

The sloppy ones can be a bear because that's when the 9 pounders fall out. I am asking them not to push because the cord is around the neck but, the baby falls into my hands anyway. Oh well.

The inbetween ones can be a problem because if they don't Kegel, they are well on their way to sloppy and if they don't have control--they can easily tear. My goal is intact perineum and healthy baby at all times.

So, V size does matter for more reasons than you might think.
