If I have to see one more blurb on the news about this, I think I am going to scream.   Seriously, does anyone really care what the woman wears?

She better not be wearing any of that crap Vera Wang calls fashionable and puts her name on or that's IT...no more invites to house parties for her!!!

What famous women wear  is a matter of interest to a lot of people: there's a whole cottage industry out there that depends on celebrity fashion. It's always been like that: apparently, Jackie Kennedy's fashion sense was analysed left, right and center, and Michelle Obama being the new Jackie...

I think there are fare more objectionable subject matters floating around in the press :-) .

I know there are lots of other things to bitch about.  I just think this whole subject is silly.  Personally, I wouldn't bat an eyelash if she showed up in her jammies.

The media likes to make a fuss of interesting, fresh new faces, and you've got to give it to the Obamas that for that purpose at least, they make the perfect couple :-) . What a departure from before!

That makes you very unique indeed. I know that there's a hell of a lot of people out there whose tongues would wag big time, were she to turn up wearing something less than pristine.

Royalty represents its people, and the people care what royalty wears: and the Obamas are our new King and Queen [8D]  (I just KNOW Sanity's going to love that one.)

I guess, then, that I am very unique.  I should celebrate my uniqueness while tongues are wagging over non-important issues like clothes. LOL

Seriously, they are not my king & queen.  He is our countries new president, following in a long line of presidents before him.  She just happens to be his wife.  Hardly, a king or queen.

No no no, Michelle and Barack are beyond the presidency. People on the right of the political equation are saying that Obama is the new Messiah, and some even call him 'the One' (hilariously enough). I'm tempted to believe them. What this country needs is a strong new leadership, like a monarchy. I think you guys are ready.

I don't give a royal fig what Michelle Obama or any other woman wears. I am more concerned about poverty, our economy, global warming etc.

I always hated the Camelot references to the Kennedy White House years. I just about want to shriek when i hear that term. Now it's being coined for the Obamas?  For heavens sakes they are human beings that have decided to work for the people (whether good or bad). Time will tell. I wish them all well.

I don't understand the obsession with fashion either. It's put together by a bunch of people that want to make money, that change it every year which means we have to spend more on clothes. Have you seen some of the catwalks lately. Absolutly ludicrious!  I wear what is comfortable and don't worry about some fancy label. I don't have one designer name in my closet and am not about to give them my hard earned dollar because i don't feel good about myself and have to have some status "clothing, purse etc." in my closet. Also, on the plus side i hate shopping!

There are more things in life that are more interesting than fashion. Take care of others, volunteer, adopt an animal, do something important with your life!

I actually agree with you on this point. I don't mind hearing about what she is wearing though. I also wouldn't mind her sharing recipes, talking about raising her kids or hearing her speak about her interests and accomplishments in her own life. She's a person of interest and that is entertaining.

What I DON'T want to hear about is her stance on political issues or see her spearheading new programs like was the case with Hilary. We didn't elect her into any office so I'd rather not see her running any just by virtue of her marital status.
