Interesting..

i think it was always in the other hand rather than the place it looked like it came from.  Did you notice how she used both hands when she pulled it out?

GreedyTop -> RE: Where did she hide it? (1/17/2009 9:55:18 AM)

yeah, but after she 'made it disappear', she'd open both hands and flutter them...

ThatDaveGuy69 -> RE: Where did she hide it? (1/17/2009 9:58:06 AM)

Very nice performance!  I wanna party with that chick! :D

I agree with fluffy - some sort of fleshy-colored pocket stuck to her right hand to hide the hanky.  On the reveal, she just needs to make it look like her right hand is doing the work - which is actually is, only not how it appears.  Left hand holds the tip, right hand moves away from left hand.  A great illusion and the getting naked part really helps a lot!

I'll bet she's great fun at parties!

The hand fluttering is part of the mis-direction.  If she held them still you might be able to see how it's done.  By keeping her hands in motion while they're "empty" your eye can't focus on her palms.  Sleight-of-hand takes a lot of practice and she clearly has perfected her art!

It's certainly a fairly standard sleight of hand magic trick, but you have to admit, her performance was awesome, and adds to the act.  It's not just that she goes totally nude, but the winks, the exaggerated pelvic thrusts, the look on her face that says, "yep, I know what you're thinking".  Even though she gets totally nude, amazing how it doesn't come across as sleezy.

Edited for spelling.

Okay since you all want to speculate. Take it from a former Houdini's Magic Shop Employee You are all wrong, However most of you are close in what you were thinking.

She Used a False Thumb, She Palms the Thumb Cap and then Stuffs the Hankerchief into it and then puts the Thumb cap over her thumb and shakes her hands so you do not see the obvious length difference between thumbs and then when she find the hangerchief all he does is slided the thumb off and pulls the hankerchief off.

I also know how they Levitate a Card and Turn a nickle into a dime.

Sorry to Ruin the Illusion but I hate it when people say they know how something is done and make it far more elaborate than it is. It's a silly Flesh Toned Fake Tummb.

Steel...Dave and i were on the right track without having the professional knowledge.  We both said it was still in the hand.  Can we get partial credit?

Saratov -> RE: Where did she hide it? (1/18/2009 8:05:12 AM)

I'd like to see her do that trick with a rabbit. [:)]

OKAY NOW THAT WAS FUNNY

Only if she screamed when pulling the rabbit out the last time.

And Yes you can get Partial Credit.

Now I am Thinking of a Number Between 1 and 3 and it is Neither 1 nor 3.

Does the number have to be a whole number?  Would a fraction or squareroot work?

SteelofUtah -> RE: Where did she hide it? (1/18/2009 9:07:04 AM)

See now that is a Smart Question! I could use a Fluffer like you.

I thought the rabbit was in a rigged hankie hanging from the hook on the table's back edge?

I saw someone do a gig where they made a rose out of a paper napkin, made it appear to float and then with a flash of flame turned into a real rose.  I wanna learn that one.

Oh, and that was a excellent vid!

Depends on the Trick the rabits are very doscille and can be put just about anywhere. In Most cases the use a hat with a False Bottom of a Quick Tap Top Hat but they can easily run in the THOUSANDS today for such an old trick most magicians won't get involved. Rabbits are not used as much anymore due to size and the fact that the Audience has caught on.

As for your Rose Trick well that one is a little different but just as simple. The Paper rose is actually made with Flash Paper this is why it gets so bright as it burns and why is burns away so quickly, David Copperfield used this trick on one of his specials and I can assure you the trick is done in quite the same concept as the levitating Spinning Card it just requires knowing with you Access points and anchors are at all times. The skill involved in not giving the entire trick away is the real skill as if you screw up just a little in where you put your hands the trick is ruined.

David Blaine, David Copperfield, even the most recent Chris Angel are all presenting old tricks with new flair, It's Blaine and Angel who piss me off because they Cheat and if you cheat at a Magic Trick you are a Hack.

David Copperfield never cheated but then again he doesn't go around flaunting this magic on the streets, he knows he's an entertainer.

As for Blaine he should stick to the Amazing Human Feats and lay off the magic because Magicians everywhere think he's a douche bag. He is only allowed in the Magicians Castle because he hasn't broken a rule yet.

And Angel needs to sell cars as the only thing hs is a Master of is how to use his Family to sell suspense. NONE of what he does puts him in danger in most cases he is safer than the audience.

Sorry if I sound Cynical but when you know how much of it is done seeing some jack ass make things sound spectacular when they aren't or even worse when you catch them cheating you ten to get annoyed.

You wanna know who the best magicians in the world are? Those guys who go from table to table in a restraunt and do card tricks because at that close to not get caught you got to be good.
