DominantDamsel -> RE: Slaves with requirements... (1/27/2009 3:30:25 PM)

I'm not going to direct this post to anyone in particular. It's basically for those who it applies and they know who they are. Message board "group think" is a psychological condition that stems from a little clique of peeps who essentially take over a board and spout "the way things are." Anyone who steps in and takes a different stance from the group think will be vilified. I believe that is what has happened on this thread. A perfectly decent master involved in wiitwd is and has been vilified by several who can't see the forest for the trees, in my personal opinion. I find this extremely immature but I think this becomes clear as one reads through the thread in its entirety. I'm not the only one to take note of this. There have been a few others here who did not follow group think, who noted the same thing that I did. Normally, I don't put myself out there for attention in the way that I have on this thread but normally I don't see a little group of people ganging up on one, like has occurred on this thread. I find it amusing that because I have put myself out in front to stand up for another dominant that now I'm accused of being that same dominant. It's pure idiocy, especially since we seem to be online often at the same time; furthermore, no, I am not one of MasterforRT's slaves. It's just stupid, for lack of a better word, that anyone who disagrees with the group think is vilified but so be it. I've never particularly cared one way or the other if I was accepted by the crowd or not. I stand up for what I believe regardless. As to those who didn't care for my commentary about the jealousy toward MasterforRT, I wonder if you might scan in your bachelors degree in psychology or even your masters to prove your credentials. If you think my comment says more about me than I'm aware of, I'm interested in hearing more about your learned opinion, provided you have the degree and the schooling to back it up. And if you don't? Well, it's unlikely I'm going to give it much consideration one way or the other. Now as to whether or not I'm "respected" here? (chuckle) Again, I could care less. It doesn't matter to me what a cliquish group, who treat other people poorly, think. Those whom I would be interested in would not join in the nastiness and childish posturing that I've seen through out this thread. And they definitely would not be supporting those who do. For my accusers, who insist that I am MasterforRT, I refer to myself as a switch on my primary profile because I have the ability to sub or dom, though I will readily admit to being new to formally doming anyone in my local scene. My primary profile on this site is "themischievous1" and I've been a member on this site for literally years. In fact, I'm still a member on some of the yahoo groups where one of the moderators here was a member as well. This nick, "Dominant Damsel" was created fairly recently because I'm seeking a submissive at this time and its easier to find someone with a nick that shows I'm in dom mode. If this thread has taught anyone anything, I hope it teaches that it's wrong to judge others unfairly and that it isn't "cool" to attack someone just because they think differently than you do. People don't have to think just like you to have a valid, worthwhile opinion and be good people. I hope it also teaches that group think is not something to aspire to, especially negative, hateful group think. I really doubt there's much more to say in regard to this thread though I will jump back in again if it seems necessary.
