I had my face waxed today yes the whole face, because I am one of the bunches of people that have tactial hair where it doesn't belong ie down the sides of cheeks, well my face is still red and horrible sore, and it feels hella waxy and I want to wash but we only have soaps, would dove soap be ok?

And will the removal of the tactial hairs make my face less well tactial when joeseph touches it.

It's driving me nuts lol the right side has already broke out a little bit and the left which is what side I have to lay on as I lay in bed with the only comfortable lay out possible for being online, I put clean pillow cases on though hoping clean ones and keeping the pillow off the face will help. I also worry now that my skin will ruin like it did on my eye brows. I posted before about the massive scaling and dandruffy flaking in my eyebrows after being waxed once.

What are "tactial hairs?"

I probably spelled it wrong but they're the baby fine hairs people have on arms they let you feel little sensations like say an ant or a fly crawling on you.

I had tactile hair along the sides of my cheek since I have more body hair than I should.
Unless you were being sarcastic causeI mis spelled it.

Humans don't have tactile hair (vibrissae). I think you're confusing it with vellus hair, commonly called "peach fuzz", which nearly everyone has. It's soft and usually non-pigmented or blonde in appearance.

Washing with a mild safe soap is quite safe. However I would definitely make sure you moisturize well.

Although keep in mind you don't want to use anything on your face that is going to make it break out. Avoid using anything with irritating on your skin since waxing exfoliates, and your skin is going to be very sensitive.

hell yes it's sensitive hehehe Just laying on the pillow case was hell this evening. washing with a bit of dove moisterizer bar helped I wet the skin rubbed a tiny amount on and carefully whiped it off.

Waxing rips the top layer of skin off too.

Stef the hair on my face was dark black on the lip and darkish on the cheeks, and the hairs on my arms are blackish . I also have jet black leg hair when it grows out.

btw, after re-reading your post I noticed the hair & sensitivity comment.

As someone with extremely dark hair, its noticeable in a lot of places it should be. I often do the same thing you've done. For me, the areas are more sensitive when they are hairless.

I went to a new place to get my eyebrows waxed and she did the whole face, now I really only wanted the chin the lips and the eyes done, I didn't know she'd do everything lol. well I dun like how the eyebrows are done she did them way to small and thin they're almost gone, and I am trying to stay positive, they'll grow back it's just hair. But the area is really tormented I can't even touch the eyebrow with out pain and there's a scaley irritated spot, I have eye brow problems before tho

But the real question is Should I be alarmed at this point that my face feels waxy to the touch even after a few washings It was done yesterday and the right cheek is still really red and bumpy and I really don't have any sense of feeling in either cheek even two days almost three now after the waxing, I am so seriously hoping that'll go away in a few days. I was really frightend and really panicking this morning trying to sleep at the idea of my skin staying this way from now on.

You have just ripped every hair out of its hair shaft using wax. The area is red and inflamed. Slightly puffed will feel slightly numb, but it'll be fine tomorrow.

personally, i feel less when bold in some areas.

I too have black hair, and no way could you describe it as 'soft' or 'downy' or peach fuzz. Sounds like a blonde comment to me lol.

And your right, it'll grow back, and you get to do it all again!

Take a couple of anti-inflammatry' tabs like ibuprofen, dulls the pain if you wish.

If it stays that way for more than a few days or gets worse, you should probably go and see a dermatologist. They might be able to prescribe something to help. They also might be able to give you another solution since waxing seems to cause you more problems than it should. I get my face waxed every 5 weeks & it only stays red for about 20 minutes. Mostly it's the eyebrows, lip & chin area, but she has waxed the side of my face near my temples with no problems. Your skin just might be too sensitive to wax.

I don't know if this will help, but for what it's worth: I don't have particularly sensitive skin, but it never did take well to shaving. When I shave, which is every 2 or 3 days, I always wipe my face with StriDex pads. Yep...the very same ones I used on my zits when I was a teenager. They kill germs but don't seem terribly mediciny. They have a good clean feel to them and it stops the burning. I don't use any kind of aftershave. Just the pads.

It's slowly getting better I am still all splotchy but the fake wax feeling has gone away all though I still don't have the sensation back, all though I hope very very much that's just due to the hair being gone, and the little hairs are what picked up the sensations if you w/ill.

My face finally lost the fake eww w wax feeling, I don't have the same before hair sensations in it any more however since it was the little hairs making it have surface sensations. I still have a few small bumps in hair line but all the other concerns are gone:d

That was great LoL

I have very sensitive skin too, and I really despise body hair so I actually shave my "sideburns" and above my lip...I felt like a man just then LOL

Honestly though, lots and LOTS of women do it, and I have one of those long battery operated shavers, I can't for my life remember what it's called...Finishing Touch I think I'm pretty sure. In any event, it works PERFECTLY!!! I'd definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to remove hair from their face, it is the most gentle thing you can use and extremely effective. I don't imagine waxing can be great for the face, it must be so painful

Also, the best skin soother I have found is Vitamin E gel, you can find it everywhere, it will be where the lotions are usually right next to Aloe Vera gel which is also great! Apply it right after shaving, waxing, epilating, anything that can irritate your skin, it will take away all, if not most, of the crappy side effects

I wax my lower face every 6 weeks as I don't like the blonde fuzz - I think it looks matronly. I use the kind of wax strip that comes pre-coated and you separate the layers. They don't rip skin, and they leave little residue.

USE BABY OIL or almond oil TO GET THE RESIDUE OFF - it won't come off with soap and water - vitamin e oil not bad either.

I would use a cream cleanser, not soap. Make sure you clean your face before waxing and let it dry well. And use the oil to remove residue and gently cleanse and moisturize again. Don't touch it or let telephone touch it. Change your pillowcase so that it's clean.

I am not a fan of the salon for doing it. They often double-dip other peoples skin cells back into the wax pot, and the honey wax is way stickier than it needs to be to get the job done. I was a hairdresser for 14 yrs and did waxing before the blue or green wax came out - the kind that requires no linen strip. I prefer that kind. But it is hard to find a salon that uses it, and again, the double dipping is unsanitary.

Y' know, I don't know what the law is in my state. But those who care NEVER re-use a dipping stick. I still think the pre-waxed strips I get at the beauty supply or from drugstore (for use on the legs - like Sally Hansen) are the BEST. I cut em to size. I mean, could you imagine having your face waxed from the same pot used to do BRAZILIAN waxing? Talk about EEEEEEEW.

Hey I was reading another part of your question about sensation on your face after you wax - i do notice the surface feels a little numb. But it's so damn smooth I can't stop touching it.
