More troubling than when a sub requests a gorgeous Domme is when he describes himself as gorgeous. Does he know there are those who would choose a scrawny, bespectacled nerd over an oiled beefcake an day ? In a perfect world, people would define what they mean by gorgeous, but in this imperfect one there's the delete button and a Domme's power to eliminate the boys who are vague in their descriptions or clinging to an unrealistic ideal. I just feel kind of bad for those boys who don't yet realize that the already daunting odds of being chosen by a Domme are made that much slimmer by their insistence on physical perfection. And yet I insist on there being some degree of physical attractiveness (what I consider attractive), so is that hypocritical ? Maybe...but a female, not to mention a dominant female can afford to be selective.

Voodali makes an excellent point, that of course we should all be able to have someone we are attracted to---but that is likely to cover a wide range of folks. If a person's mind attracts me, his physical appearance will suddenly improve!

What makes a person gifted. I have a very high IQ. I raised a son and a daughter and treated them both the same. My daughter is considered gifted while my son is not. I think that it had more to do with their school enviroment and who their friends were. Peer pressure had no effect on my daughter but I think on my son it did so he dummied down. As far as how people look. Think what it would be like if we were all clones. We would not have any choice on what people looked liked. Diversity is great.

BSB, Red is saying that in the developed world, income matters far more than genetics and in the third world, the more food, the smarter the kid. In the nature vs. nurture debate, nurture wins hands down.

Hi BSB, I kinda noticed the photo, too. It makes you look very smart. Lack of income equals poverty to me. I don't care about the country. I've taken Mexican immigrants as volunteers on food distributions in central California, and they told me afterward that they thought no one lived like that outside of Mexico. There are a lot of "third world" conditions in the United States right now, and there will be more next year. I wish I could be more cheery about that, but bottom line: if a kid grows up with no books, parents who work two jobs, and no quiet place to think, read or write, that social environment (in general) has a greater effect on mental development than being Einstein's secret lovechild.

I've clearly been away too much if Michael is [Awaiting Approval] ... Now I wanna know what he did. He's usually so good and stuff.... and I must say all the babes on CM are just that - babes. I remember being all hubba hubba about one of the gals, and then I saw her pic. Let's face it, not everybody is what folks think of as "pretty." But her charm and cleverness and wit make me see her as beautiful. If one does not see others as beautiful, it says much more about the seer than the one seen. Thanks Red, I was going for the smart look! I did acutally understand what you meant, I just wanted to make sure I was clear on your point. I agree lack of income=poverty. That's why I said the type of poverty that affects third world countries. I totally agree with Michael about nuture winning over nature (especially with us helicopter Moms [;)]) My youngest um is the smartest kid in his grade and my first born is incredibly smart. Without our guidance, that could very well go to waste.
