Well DUH!  :)  You are a wise Bear. [:D]

Voodali -> RE: "Wanted: Gorgeous/Beautiful Domme" (1/25/2009 6:46:37 PM)

More troubling than when a sub requests a gorgeous Domme is when he describes himself as gorgeous.  Does he know there are those who would choose a scrawny, bespectacled nerd over an oiled beefcake an day ?  In a perfect world, people would define what they mean by gorgeous, but in this imperfect one there's the delete button and a Domme's power to eliminate the boys who are vague in their descriptions or clinging to an unrealistic ideal.  I just feel kind of bad for those boys who don't yet realize that the already daunting odds of being chosen by a Domme are made that much slimmer by their insistence on physical perfection.  And yet I insist on there being some degree of physical attractiveness (what I consider attractive), so is that hypocritical ?  Maybe...but a female, not to mention a dominant female can afford to be selective.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: "Wanted: Gorgeous/Beautiful Domme" (1/25/2009 6:51:37 PM)

Voodali makes an excellent point, that of course we should all be able to have someone we are attracted to---but that is likely to cover a wide range of folks.  If a person's mind attracts me, his physical appearance will suddenly improve!

<snippage for space>
And I'm definitely the ugly duckling.  No one will *ever* mistake me for "gorgeous."

Hey!  I do NOT make mistakes!  Or at least that's the story I'm pushing, so get with the program fellow gorgeous one!

Okay, okay...anything for my velvet buddy.

Dnomyar -> RE: "Wanted: Gorgeous/Beautiful Domme" (1/26/2009 5:52:10 AM)

What makes a person gifted. I have a very high IQ. I raised a son and a daughter and treated them both the same. My daughter is considered gifted while my son is not. I think that it had more to do with their school enviroment and who their friends were. Peer pressure had no effect on my daughter but I think on my son it did so he dummied down.  As far as how people look. Think what it would be like if we were all clones. We would not have any choice  on what people looked liked. Diversity is great.

Katy, of course not.  *snort*  These men are in the same class as those who want only 20 yr old submissives who are size 4 and 34DD.  They are focused on the picture in their head, and not the PERSON.

Intellectual, I look for intelligent men myself.  I don't think it's shallow to seek intelligence---or anything else, truly---because intelligence is a thing that stays with you and grows.   An intelligent person enhances his or her companions.  (at least I would like to think so)  Beauty is transitory.

It's true that beauty and intelligence are subjective things, but the real issue that I have with the fantasists is that they are not looking for a compatible human being, they are looking for a customized toy.    We all have an array of needs, and not all of them are "worthy" necessarily---I need a masochist, and I know that I would never be 100% satisfied in a relationship with a pain-phobic.  The foot fetishist has his needs, and he wouldn't be 100% satisfied with me, who would only indulge his desires, but never really share them.

I want a real man, not a shell.  It would be lovely if those men who write saying that they would love to submit to me really MEANT it, but they don't.  I point out kindly that they don't even know me, how could they make such a claim?  More often than not, I don't get a response.

Well, considering that you are both intelligent AND gorgeous....the man who is first enamoured by you....for your beauty.....will just have to live with the fact that he gets a two-fer in the process.

Suck up! [;)]

(I thought that was rather well done....was it the caps that gave me away?)

sunshinemiss -> RE: "Wanted: Gorgeous/Beautiful Domme" (1/26/2009 6:49:48 PM)

Suck up or no, you are absolutely right.

*the ever so sweet sunshine who is not looking for a Domme but if'n I was... hubba hubba.

Red, before claiming genetics play so little a role, perform the studies yourself or look up what experts have found.

I know you don't know me, and many people do post on the net without knowing what they are talking about.  However, I do.  My position was that income matters more than genetics, and if you sample worldwide, there is no question that it does.  If you are trying to refute my position, then the studies you link to suffer from sample bias.

One example:
http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v388/n6641/abs/388468a0.html

You are welcome to search for a single study by an institution accredited by the APA that states that genetics plays a greater role than the amount of nutrition and attention a child gets from the ages of 0-5.  Poverty plays a much greater role than chromosomes.  Period.

Red,
You are (unintentionally I imagine) saying in one sentence that income plays a greater role than genetics, then in the next sentence you talk about poverty playing a greater role than genetics.  I am wrong in interpreting this to mean that  you aren't talking so much about the differences in the income level of lower/middle/upper class but about the type of poverty that afflicts third world countries?

SimplyMichael -> RE: "Wanted: Gorgeous/Beautiful Domme" (1/26/2009 11:12:20 PM)

BSB,

Red is saying that in the developed world, income matters far more than genetics and in the third world, the more food, the smarter the kid.

In the nature vs. nurture debate, nurture wins hands down.

BSB .... your new pic

wow .... just ..... wow .....

RedMagic1 -> RE: "Wanted: Gorgeous/Beautiful Domme" (1/27/2009 4:43:20 AM)

Hi BSB,

I kinda noticed the photo, too.  It makes you look very smart.

Lack of income equals poverty to me.  I don't care about the country.  I've taken Mexican immigrants as volunteers on food distributions in central California, and they told me afterward that they thought no one lived like that outside of Mexico.  There are a lot of "third world" conditions in the United States right now, and there will be more next year.  I wish I could be more cheery about that, but bottom line: if a kid grows up with no books, parents who work two jobs, and no quiet place to think, read or write, that social environment (in general) has a greater effect on mental development than being Einstein's secret lovechild.

I've clearly been away too much if Michael is [Awaiting Approval] ...
Now I wanna know what he did.  He's usually so good and stuff....

and I must say all the babes on CM are just that - babes.

I remember being all hubba hubba about one of the gals, and then I saw her pic.  Let's face it, not everybody is what folks think of as "pretty."  But her charm and cleverness and wit make me see her as beautiful.  If one does not see others as beautiful, it says much more about the seer than the one seen.

In my opinion of course...

well wishes,
sunshine

Thanks Red, I was going for the smart look!

I did acutally understand what you meant, I just wanted to make sure I was clear on your point. I agree lack of income=poverty.  That's why I said the type of poverty that affects third world countries.

I totally agree with Michael about nuture winning over nature (especially with us helicopter Moms [;)])

My youngest um is the smartest kid in his grade and my first born is incredibly smart.  Without our guidance, that could very well go to waste.
