Well, for a man who's been here just a little over a month, you seem to have met and gotten to know quite a lot of people. (I read your journal)

I don't see where you're having problems.

Best of luck;

Christina

Thank you everyone for your replies. The reason I asked is sometimes with us there seems to be a certain protocol, a certain secret handshake if you will. Something that helps identify the real players and make all feel more comfortable. Thanks again everyone.

Well of course there is, but we're not gonna share that HERE. What's the point of it being secret?

Such is life. Send a short polite email and then let it go.

True. It really is the best way to contact a dominant. Short and polite. If one reads the dominant's profile, contact particulars are often addressed, and most times it is just as described above.

Making sure your profile is in order and is as interesting as possible goes a long way, too. The message and the profile of course go hand in hand. It's strange how a lot of people don't seem to understand that, though.

When I am watching whos online and checking their profiles what the correct thing to do? Just invite for a chat or send a quick note? And whats the best way to do it without coming across as a total doofus?

Thanks,

Eric8

First off, as already mentioned, I would make sure that my profile said something that was appealing to others. Make sure you state what you are looking for very clearly. Also, a picture is always nice, if you don't want to post one on your profile, then include one with your email's.
Secondly, I would make sure that I read other profiles carefully before emailing, and make sure that you are compatible on some levels with the other person.
Third, I would email, let that person know of your interest, and then wait for them to respond before trying to initiate a chat.
