beargonewild -> Emergency Flashers (2/1/2009 11:34:18 AM)

Yesterday I had a flat tire on the interstate.  So I eased my car over to the shoulder of the road, carefully got out of the car and opened the trunk.   I took out 2 cardboard men, unfolded them and stood them at the rear of my car facing oncoming traffic. They look so lifelike you wouldn't believe! They are in trench coats, exposing their nude bodies and private parts to the approaching drivers. I started to change my tire, and to my surprise, cars started slowing down looking at my lifelike men.  And of course, traffic started backing up. Everybody was tooting their horns and waving like crazy.  It wasn't long before a state trooper pulled up behind me. He got out of his car and started walking towards me.  I could tell he was not a happy camper! "What's going on here?" "My car has a flat tire," I said calmly. "Well, what the hell are those obscene cardboard men doing here by the  road?" I couldn't believe that he didn't know.  So I told him, "Hello-o-o-o-o-o, those are my emergency flashers!"

OMG   -    I love that visual!

FourQ -> RE: Emergency Flashers (2/1/2009 1:26:10 PM)

I'm surprised at you Bear.  I'd have thought you'd have had some strapping young scantly-clad lads on standby, not use cardboard cut outs.[;)]

GimpinDenial -> RE: Emergency Flashers (2/1/2009 3:00:02 PM)

He did...but since they tend to pass out from carbon dioxide poising....
well...cardboard just lasts longer (and cheaper to replace too)

FourQ -> RE: Emergency Flashers (2/1/2009 3:02:00 PM)

Ah.  Do American and Canadian cars have the exhausts feeding back into the cars??[;)]

GreedyTop -> RE: Emergency Flashers (2/1/2009 3:03:26 PM)

it can tend to leak into the boot, Q....

FourQ -> RE: Emergency Flashers (2/1/2009 3:05:13 PM)

Seriously?  It would never pass an MOT here.
I guess I'll stick to bikes.

GreedyTop -> RE: Emergency Flashers (2/1/2009 3:06:06 PM)

CAN leak, hon.. not necessarily does..  :)

FourQ -> RE: Emergency Flashers (2/1/2009 3:11:27 PM)

Ah... I've seen some of those jalopies on the police vids.
I still don't believe Bear would pass up the opportunity to have live flashing blokes in his boot, and nobody's going to convince me otherwise.

GimpinDenial -> RE: Emergency Flashers (2/1/2009 3:28:32 PM)

LMAO....

Lovemetomorrow -> RE: Emergency Flashers (2/1/2009 4:21:44 PM)

I want some of those!

Saratov -> RE: Emergency Flashers (2/1/2009 7:26:34 PM)

If there is carbon dioxide leaking into the 'boot' the car should be taken off the road.... carbon monoxide is a different matter.  Probably just needs exhast system work.

GimpinDenial -> RE: Emergency Flashers (2/1/2009 7:40:35 PM)

lol
my post has stirred up to much crap..lol

As for dioxide or monoxide
Technically, both would be correct (per my post)

Though it has only been confirmed on a few accounts,
CO2 poisoning is possible in confined spaces (such as a boot/trunk)

meh.....who cares anyhow....
lighten up ya'll
jeepers.......

Vendaval -> RE: Emergency Flashers (2/1/2009 11:10:27 PM)

I just showed my daughter a couple of bears postings and she says that anyone reading his posts need to follow rule number one from a forum she reads on customer service.

rule # 1.........no drinking anything when reading posts.

She looked funny with beer coming out her nose, LOL
