Maya thank you very much for that link, interesting reading on a subject that I 'should' know more about.

I wish I could go to a doc-in-a-box and request these tests simply for my own satisfaction without having the hassle (and for me having to push past a phobia) of seeing a doctor in a standard office setting.

It does help though, to understand more so again I thank you for that link.

lilwonder...just curious since you have also had a tubal

Did you ever experience cramps when you ovulated after your tubal. I know I did but never had it before. It was a telling sign tho when I could probably expect the cycle to actually hit.

Those cramps floored me more than menstral cramps.

I never had cramps until after my tubal. Now I get terrible cramps but always during my time, never before or after. The only way I know when I'm getting my time is the normal bloated feeling and tender breasts.

Sari, i used to be on time every month to the point i'd know the night before i was going to start. as i get older it just gets more messed up. sometimes it's barely there, sometimes i bleed so much that it's hard to even leave the house. i'm severely anemic from it all. what has happened to me in the last several months is that the pms or pmdd (i think that is the term), is getting horrendous. my doc did tell me that it's normal for some to experience wild fluctuations as they start peri menopause or menopause.

I really am thinking it might be peri menopause at this point, but I have an appointment with my new doctor on April 7th and will discuss this with him and see what all he wants to do. It will likely result in a second appointment for a full gyno exam to start with. I need one anyway as I am overdue for one a bit. I know I will be glad when I am finally done with the monthlies for good and I'm almost hoping that is what this is signaling the beginning of.

You mention wild fluctuations for some is normal per your doc. Hell I can't even call this a wild flucuation because it is still regular, just regular with a longer time in between! Story of my life lol.

Update and thanks again for all the feedback.

I went to my new doctor and discussed the issue with him. Some bloodwork was done and an appointment for a full well woman exam and more bloodwork made for May. It is initially sounding to him like it may be peri and some of the bloodwork is to test hormone levels, etc. It's good to be on the road to figuring it out.

Update:

Finally have my answer. Estrogen and progestrine (sp) levels are out of whack. All else is good to go. No bad or serious issues causing the problems...whew!
