I have built about 15 dungeons in my 13+ years in the lifestyle. Some have been the traditional, flat black paint applied with a sponge over rust colored paint, some non-traditional indoor room conversions, and others have been elegant outdoor dungeons in Los Angeles. Personally, I believe that the dungeon is what you want it to be. It should be an extension of you. If you are into strict protocol, a very clean house, and you like your ropes perfectly coiled, then you should design and build a dungeon which allows for neat storage and looks clean and organized. I have helped build a dungeon on a brick patio outside. It was absolutely beautiful... It had a waterfall which flowed back int the pool, and hidden in the waterfall were stainless steel eye hooks, so that you could bind your slave and whack away as the water showered her. Then there was a handcarved bench, which had rope cleats hidden on the underside, so that you could tie down your slave and do as you please. It also had a partial canopy which covered half of it, and this canopy had supports and crossbraces strong enough to suspend someone. If cost is a huge issue, then build yourself a steel or wooden pyramid, with a few cross braces, and be creative as you bind someone. Sometimes it is not as much about the equipment and dungeon, as it is about your methods, creativity, and desire to have fun. I hope this helps...
