ORIGINAL: Termyn8or Not so sure. This pain would send 99.9% of the people to the ER, but not me.If you know me you know my commitment to self healing and the subsequent study thereof. I have stated that I do not go to doctors and I have had a hard time this last week keeping to my word. Symptoms were chronic fatigue and coldness, no appetite at all. Strange, but the only thing I got out of bed for was to check on CM and piss. I did not eat between Sunday and Tuesday. I slept almost all the time. There developed a severe pain in my left side, which I cannot attribbute to any accident or anything, I don't think it was a rib problem (details available on request). The pain got unbearable anytime I would cough or sneeze, and I lost some work over it. I was not functional. Bending over was pure hell. However then my buddy shows up and want to get some food from my favorite eatery, and brings some Mother nature. After three bites from a sandwich, it started feeling a bit better, a few tokes, a beer here and there. I think I really got some REM sleep last night. It was bad, and I have to admit it almost beat me, but right now it is looking pretty good. I am eating almost normally again and the pain is subsiding. Now I had a buddy who I think had pain on the left side, and wound up having his gallbladder removed. I pecked around the net though and found that what they say is that is on the right side, but do they mean as they look at you or do they mean you ? It is on my left side, if you looked at me it would be on the right. Did I misinterpret this ? Whatever it is, I seem to be on the mend, most definitely. Also gallbaladder problems frequently cause pain in the front of the abdomen according to the websites I looked at. I was getting to the point where I thought I really couldn't handle it and was considering my options as far as actually going to an MD. But I was also ready to get my affairs in order, if you can understand my philosophy. Hell no I won't go. The question is, what happened ? Did I possibly pass some stones ? Kidneystones are way worse I would think because they eventually wind up in the urinary tract, no fun for either gender. But what exactly happens when you pass gallstones ? They go into the small intestine underneath the stomach. Is this possibly what happened to me ? Any other ideas on what this might have been are welcome, I am not completely convinced that it was gallstones, but I think it may have been. I have noticed people have mentioned gallbladder problems before and if stones, I would like to hear about the symptoms. In the last couple of days there has been quite an improvement, I actually played a bit of piano today. I feel much better then I did last week. However this left/right thing leaves me wondering if it wasn't something else. The pain was near the bottom of the ribcage on the left side. If anyone knows I would like to know. Please don't tell me to go to a doctor, if you knew me you would know that ain't happenin. It almost did, but I won apparently. Someone mentioned kidneys, but I think they are farther back. What organ is on the left side of my body in that spot ? I just want the info to do my own further research, if someone can nail it, I will pay special attention to what I need to not have this happen again. I have internet access to Google, I don't need forty links. More personal experiences with gallbladder problems or whatever it was I may have had would be desired. Going to a doctor is not an option until I have better than a 50/50 chance of dying. Your opinions and comments are welcome, as long as you don't tell me to go to the doctor. I did not say what I said in jest, I will not go. It is not an irrational fear IMO and nothing anyone can say will change that. Anything else is welcome, other than that, just move on. This is my life and will live and die it on my and my creator's terms, if any. It did test my resolve though, it was pretty bad. Any ideas ? T As others have said so eloquently. Get your backside to the doctor. I am 34 years old now and when I was 19 I had gall stones the size of golfballs. Eating anything would set me up for horrible pain that would have me curled up so tightly and crying that eventually I was sent to the hospital and emergency surgery was done. They tried to do it lyprascopic but couldn't because of the size of the stones. Now I have a scar on my stomach that has a nifty oriental dragon over it. Do not, let me repeat. DO NOT delay. Your life may be on the line.
