Status: offline 		Now I have to say that sounds intriguing.  I do a lot of prana oriented exercises with my actors when I direct.  It helps them to be more aware of one another and the audience and to feel the 'pulse' of the work they are creating together.  Pranic Vampirism is a new concept to me, but then so is vampirism in general, as a kink or lifestyle.  I would still like to know how that works.

This is as opposed to being a succubus and drawing in sexual energy and also different than Sanguine vampirism which is drinking blood.

It is the flow of life energy through ourselves and the world we live in.  It cannot be quantified, so as 'real' as it may be, there is no scientific way to even prove it's existence in a way that most Western minds can understand, nor can we prove that the various techniques which have developed over the millenia for manipulating it actually do anything, although things like Kirlian photography do at least provide us with empiric evidence of it.  Still, the longevity and pervasiveness of the concept makes it difficult to just remove it from consideration entirely.  I can say with confidence that Yogic pranayama exercises and such do seem to do something beneficial for us.  Reiki, accupuncture, and accupressure are all rooted in this concept and Tantric sex is impossible without an understanding of how prana works.  From my own experience, spending time working with actors in exercises that deal with prana has had a profound effect on their work, whether it is a placebo effect or not (I suspect not, but skeptics abound, especially here in CM, so I am careful to qualify my statements about it).

And now, apaparently, there is also a form of vampirism that deals with it.  Well, I have to say, that of all the approaches to vampirism that have existed since it came into vogue, this is probably the most enlightened, and one which may actually be worth doing a little extra reading to find out more about.

Status: offline 		I'm afraid this response won't help the original poster much...but I am curious. The concept of 'prana' makes some sense to me, but I'm curious how pranic vampirism works as a practice. Is it a ritual transfer, or something less elaborate?

Status: offline 		I use energy play in BDSM, martial arts, yoga/gymnastics, dance, processing non-BDSM pain (like at the dentist), etc., but either using my own, or more circulating/interacting with someone else's, not taking it away from them in any vampiric kind of way. I just think of it as another tool for processing pain or otherwise utilising my body better, like breathing techniques, it isn't magical or spiritual to me.

You got questions about vampirism, I'm your gal. 
 
Yes, my slaves are always donors.  Then again, so is my fiance as have been most, if not all, of my intimate partners.  For techniques, any book on energy work will do.  The Psychic Vampire Codex, Ethical Psychic Vampirism, even *shudder* Silver Ravenwolf or Scott Cunningham work for learning basic techniques.  For me, it's instinctive.  I don't have to think about it, my body just does what it needs to do.  It's not a kink as much as it is a reflex -- like blinking or breathing.

It works differently for different people.  In my case, it's like breathing.  I just do it.  For people like my friend Michelle who wrote The Psychic Vampire Codex, it's ritualized.  For most of us, it's just like eating a meal is for you.  Sometimes you like a nice romantic dinner with music and candlelight and sometimes you just want to grab a burger and get on with your day.

Status: offline 		It's ('donating') sort of like (from a man's standpoint) the physical reactions of an orgasm, feeling the ejaculate... well, exit the body (i.o.w. ejaculate ). It's intense.

From a "taker's" perspective it's an awesome thrill, the type that I get right as a roller-coaster starts its fast descent down-hill (only there's marginally less fear). I feel it in my bones, crackling in the air around me...

It's really cool.

I used to do it instinctively, though not so much anymore. The power behind doing it on 'purpose' is significantly increased, for me, though.

I don't know if you necessarily need a deep understanding of it, however you need to be keenly 'in tune' with it. The difference is mild, but it *does* make a difference.

I once puked after drinking a big malt.  Can you get physically ill from gorging on too much energy?   I knew this girl whom after indulging in a huge energy smorgasbord, asked..., "Domi, does this hat make my brain look fat?"

What if someone is a negative person, does their energy have an asslike aftertaste?

This topic is strange but so interesting.

Potentially, I could become addicted like a heroin junkie.  I could also drain my donor to the point it becomes unhealthy.  Ever been sick and your body felt heavy and you could hardly move?  For the donor, it's like that.  That's why I'm careful never to take too much.

I'd have to ask around, but I don't know any other vampires who have gotten sick from overfeeding.  I never have and I don't think I would.  It's not like drinking too much booze.

I don't know about asslike but it definitely "tastes" bad.  The only analogy I can think of is like getting an acid burn from the inside out.  Not that I've ever had an acid burn, but I imagine it would feel similar.  However, some vampires feed specifically on negative people or negative emotions such as anger or fear.  They draw out the negative energy and convert it into something positive.  After feeding, donors report feeling "lighter" or more peaceful.
