A friend of mine sent this to me. It is lightly bases on "God Said NO" but he wrote this with a D/s spin on it. I am posting it here with his permision as I thought it said what D/s M/s is about so elegantly.

It is not for Me to take away, but for you to give it up.

I can heal your body; you must want to heal your spirit.
i asked my Dominant to grant me patience.
my Dominant said, No.
Patience is a byproduct of tribulation;
it isn't granted, it is learned.
i asked my Dominant to give me happiness.
my Dominant said, No.
I give you blessings; happiness is up to you.
i asked my Dominant to spare me pain.
my Dominant said, No.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares
and brings you closer to Me.
i asked my Dominant to make my spirit grow.
my Dominant said, No.
you must grow on your own.
But I will nurture and prune you to make you fruitful.
i asked my Dominant for all things so that i might enjoy life.
my Dominant said, No.
I will give you new life
so that you may enjoy all things.
i asked my Dominant to help me love myself as much as He loves me.
my Dominant said, Yes.
