Status: offline 		This is the only site that I actively searched for a dom on. It took me about three years to connect with him. I had to kiss some frogs along the way, but they were instrumental in helping me to define what I liked and wanted and even more importantly what I didn't like and absolutely didn't want. It turns out that he had noticed me way back when I first joined and he waited in the shadows until the timing was right. Yesterday (I checked Wind) was exactly one year since our first email exchange and it's been nonstop ever since.

Status: offline 		After administrating an online community that caters to a local, real-world community, I would suggest using these 'guidelines' as a way to help filtering.

1. If they use the word 'Master', 'Sir', or 'Lord' in an online user name, move on. The experience most of them have had, exists solely in their head.

2. If they talk about building a 'House', move on. Generally, they're looking for naive people to support their unemployed lifestyle.

3. If they expect respect without giving respect, move on. They lack the ability to communicate.

4. If your potential "Master" gets into a pissing contest with others for attention of nearby submissives, move on. It reeks of jealousy and obsessiveness.

Generally, the best suggestion in this thread was looking for 'a person', not a Dom. Find someone who compliments your personality first, and can be your Dom second-- this will stand true even in a casual relationship.

I agree that this is a good way to go about it.  If you can hang out with someone on a "friendship" level, it makes everything else much better.  I need to have the person connection before I can think about the other stuff.  If we can't sit around and hang out for 6 hours and have fun, I'm not really interested in having sex or being tortured by him.

Status: offline 		I began looking on CM just under 2 years ago. I found some wonderful people and some kicking doms... but not exactly what I wanted/needed, even though I thought they were at the time. I found my angel in October or I should say he found me. It's been better and better each day and I couldn't be happier...
