Hello to all the submissive and Dominas alike.I was just curious as to whether any of our Dominas here have learned any new kinks from their subs or have taken on a sub with a kink or fetish that you never thought of before and decided on your terms of course to try it???For the sake of the family hour let's try to keep it within the safe ,sane and consensual realm of ideas and fetishes as defined by the Geneva Convention on Kink(ok there is no such thing but i thought it sounded good).

Good Morning, chezzy.  I have to chime in here and say absolutely.  I was actually brought in by a sub who had more experience than Me, so most of the things I learned in that first year, I learned either from him or through him.

I don't think it would be possible for Me to list all of the things the boys have taught Me over the years.  Even when I've learned from other tops, the boys have always had a hand (or an ass) in on it.  I consider Myself very lucky that clip, even with less time in the lifestyle, has a lot of information on a lot of things.  Who better than a nurse when it comes to things like medical play?

Hello chezzy,

I usually don't reply on the boards, but I enjoyed your question so much I thought you should get public props for it.

That being said, I have to go a little broader in the reply.  I've never owned a slave I didn't learn from.  A well trained slave is such a beautiful creature.  But the only way to reach that status is for the owner to learn as well as the owned.  I've picked up a few creative ideas along the way in the form of punishment, because each individual responds to different things.  In BDSM it sometimes becomes a challenge to actually punish a slave for a fault, because too often they enjoy it!  If an owner isn't careful they simply end up reinforcing the bad behavior.   So though I don't fetish train slaves as such, my creativity has been challenged more than once.  In truth it's one of the things I love about especially the early stages of training.

If you ever come across the Geneva Convention on Kink... heh.  Maybe we should draft one ourselves?  In any event, it's an excellent question.  Thanks for starting my day with a smile.

A 'Good Morning' from me also, Chezzy (it's 11am here). To answer you, it's a resounding YES from me. I've had my eyes well and truly opened over the years from many submissives who have not only introduced me to new kinks, but also helped and shown me techniques along the way.

Good morning Chezzy!

To answer the question, absolutely! I was introduced to all of this by a submissive and nudged along the way by another. I've often said I've learned more from my friends that are /submissives/slaves, than anyone else.

Excellent question! Yes, I wasnt good at knots, I had a submissive buy Me a book on nautical knots ( I'm still not good at them). I think this is where the difference comes in--learning from each other is not the same as topping from the bottom. I think to expect a Dominant to know eveything is ludicrous and can be dangerous in play--there will always be someone who knows something better than You do--why not learn together? I hope to learn knots, I am not a knot chick--chains, I stick with chains. Knots and meatballs. ( who said meatballs can't be kinky?)

Depends whose

I'm also still shite at rope bondage, it's just not my 'thing', but it's a necessary evil for me. I'm not talented at it, it's a means to an end for me, my submissive LOVES rope bondage, so there's a compromise. The compromise is that I'll throw in a little 'cats cradle', he gets the warm fuzzies, my ropework looks like crap but it's effective - it works, for us lol

I'm the same.  I can appreciate good rope work.  It looks beautiful and all, but to Me, it's just to restrain someone so the fun can begin.

It would be nice to be able to apply ropework that at least looked as if it had been applied skillfully, but I have to admit that I'm just not talented at it regardless of how many times I have practised/applied. Some people have a natural affinity. I know enough to be effective and without compromise to circulation, etc... but it still looks as if there's that whole schizo-macrame thing going on.

Absolutely!   Submissives and books taught me most of what I know.    I don't know a whole lot, but what I know and do at times, can be fairly invasive.
Thank God for the attempted relationships that taught me so much, or the boys who were voluntary guinea pigs.    M

i think anything is possible...W/we learn from each other even if W/we don't want to admit it.
as for new kinks/fetish...i am sure based on ur question, curiosity can create the opportunity for a Domina to learn.

I'm sure I got my appreciation for having my feet cared for very well from a former partner who knew how to do it and had a foot fetish.

I can't imagine not learning something from a good partner.

I agree and hold this view for social relationships in general.
