For me, I have positive and negative memories of the" good old days" (70s-90s). On the positive side, we presented an alternative and because our visible numbers were small, we were more flexible, more united. I was involved in the founding of a BDSM group in an East Coast City and was involved with one in upstate New York. All races, genders, sexual preferences and marital statuses. It was great, but we often felt isolated; like we were the only ones out there. This was definitely a negative. Today, it's a mixed picture as well. Thanks to the web, lots of people are connecting and that's great. The sense of isolation is no longer there. On the other hand, I have encountered LOTS of people who act like they are still in high school or worse yet junior high. Many of the female subs I've met online seem to be looking for a rich, handsome and buff guy who is quite popular.Oh yes, and he is also dominant! I'd rather be back in the "good old days."

Seriously do some people just scan threads looking for something, anything to be trite about? No one alive today should have been areound when Kink was new as Original Sin is discussed in the Old Testament and according to my Aunty, who is already shre I will be burning in hell, Kink of any kind wouldn't have been Original since the dawn of time when Humans decided they would Procreate for Pleasure.

I look back fondly at my first visit to a BDSM club. Twas very underground, very seedy (yum) possibly a dangerous place for a single woman to hang out in. The toilets were filthy and the site of a woman on that pissy floor being held down by four men and fisted by another was somewhat shocking at the time.
Now things have become much more main stream. We have clubs of every variety openly advertising and we still have those seedy underground clubs (one of which we are going to tonight). We have munches in just about every city and town, we have an abundance of new places to try and a whole bunch of people we can meet up with thanks to the Internet.
What was there before is still there. We just have more choice.

Oh my! 'back in the day' I was 6'1", a size 8, with a world of opportunities ahead of Me and a group of 8 to 10 male subs serving Me hand and foot.
