Racking my brain For something nice about rain There was a time A very good time Long, long, long ago When I waxed poetic about rain. Now rain means wet sox One can argue it is better than snow Because you don’t have to shovel it And what falls in November is not in my way in March But snow is pretty and peaceful For about five seconds And you always see snow. Can’t say the same For freezing rain And the black ice. Besides you can knock the snow off before you come in. Wet sox, however mean wet feet. I could talk of it bats down the ragweed pollen. Of course, it makes more ragweed bloom. Rain may come from a silver lining but, In each silver lining is a cloud The clouds block some UV rays And vitamin D. Sorry thought I had unalloyed good there for minute Then I thought about it. Rain means wet sox.
